What does Washington have to do with internet comments from someone with the handle "iranianstudent?" Careful, your anti-Americanism is showing again.

Well, Mosaddeq was elected by the Parliament, not the people and he dissolved the Parliament.

International Court of Justice Rules US Sanctions on Iran Are Illegal

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) – The United Nations’ highest court on Wednesday ordered the United States to lift sanctions on Iran that affect imports of humanitarian goods and products and services linked to civil aviation safety.

The ruling by the International Court of Justice is legally binding, but it remains to be seen if the administration of President Donald Trump will comply.

Of course Washington will not comply. The US government is a criminal organization that refuses to obey even its on laws

    http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/50368.htm

Update: As I said, Washington refused to comply with the law. Instead, Washington cancelled the treaty showing the US to be a completely lawless government. https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2018/10/04/iran-sanctions-us-responds-court-order-by-canceling-treaty-gave-court-jurisdiction.html

    https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2018/10/04/international-court-of-justice-rules-us-sanctions-on-iran-are-illegal/
    -----------
Is this thread about the same sanctions?
Again I have to ask, WHY is the US so hostile to Iran?

Iran remains top terror sponsor as global attacks decline
"Washington (CNN)Iran remains the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism, according to an annual State Department report that pointed to ISIS as the primary non-state threat to US interests and allies.
Terrorism around the world declined globally last year, according to the Country Reports on Terrorism 2016. But Iran continues to destabilize the Middle East through proxies such as Hezbollah, exacerbating conflicts in Iraq, Syria and Yemen."

First, we dont care what the ICJ says.

Second we are hostile to Iran because they are hostile to us because we are hostile to them and so on and so forth.

Thank you for your prompt answer. I hope you don't mind, if I answer with but...
Israel and the USA have been helping and supporting ISIS!!!

The United States has been and still is the main instigator of terror by attacking one country after the other in the Middle East for no valid reason that I can detect. NO country has ever attacked you! The US has simply taken upon itself Israel's defense and security. Again, WHY? I probably know your answer... because Israel is the only stable democracy in the region AND America's only reliable ally. That is usually the standard answer.

By taking a closer look into the region one can't help but see that Israel has steadily been on the move to enlarge itself and has deminished and fragmatized Palestine. Also has taken land away from Syria. Doing that with brutal force has created hatred, hostility and resentment towards Israel...
Cosmic law of action and reaction! Or "what you sow you will reap!"

Instead of being sensitive and act sensibly to achieve peace, they keep increasing their military might, enlist the US and some NATO countries to get involved, risking a Third WW.

You seem to be on the side of Israel. It would interest me to know your thoughts on how far you would go in defending Israel? Would you actually risk an all out war with Iran? Risk arousing Russia?
NO, you wouldn't!!! Or would you? :)

I see... you take the "bully" approach. And you can do that and get away with it, because of your status as the "world's policeman"!

Why yes, exactly. To quote Stalin "How many divisions does the Pope have?" In this case replace Pope with ICJ

You think? What I have heard is that you cannot beat Iran without boots on the ground and once you put boots on the ground, Iran has you. Massive territory and they know it and you do not. Israel's military were against them going in. What makes you think you will be more effective...and remember most countries are still honouring the 2015 Treaty which Iran has abided by. The US is definitely the one in the wrong here. Making treaties and then trying to destroy countries for keeping them.

Since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, Iran has been on our black list of nation states. Few Americans know why the relationship between us soured, but it's worth knowing. We tend to think Iran attacked our diplomats in Tehran for no reason. But truth is, we did something in 1953, that we should have never done. We created the problem. In 1951, a freely elected Prime Minister in Iran named Mohammed Mosaddegh, who attempted to renegotiate an oil deal with the British oil companies taking oil from Iran & selling it on the world market. At the time, the British were giving Iran about 10% in royalties for those sales. Mosaddegh saw the British giving Saudi Arabia and other oil source countries as much as 25% royalties. Mosaddegh felt that was unfair, and wanted the British to up the rate of royalties for Iran to make it more fair. The British oil companies refused, and after considerable time & energy expended trying to find agreement, Mosaddegh nationalized Iranian oil & cut the British off from Iranian oil altogether until they agreed to the 25% royalty. The British became enraged & asked President Truman to go in and overthrow Mosaddegh for them. Truman told them he wouldn't overthrow a democratically elected government, just on principle. The British waited until our next election (1952), when a Republican was elected--Dwight Eisenhower. Then they returned and made the exact same request of the new President--this time with very different results. Eisenhower sent the CIA into Iran to overthrow Mosaddegh & install a puppet regime under the deposed ex-king (Shah). So under Eisenhower, the U.S. overthrew a democratic government & installed a monarchy that the people of Iran hated, all for the right of the British to get oil for less royalties than they were willing to pay other countries. Shame on us. Iran has never forgotten that deed, though as a people, Iranians have historically liked Americans generally. They feel we betrayed their democracy. And we did.

They couldn't beat Saddam's crappy forces and we destroyed them in 100 hours.

Why do you think they would fare better against us then they did against Iraq?

And remember, you guys were saying the exact same thing about Iraq, the worlds 4th biggest army and we destroyed them in no time.

It took longer to reload then it did to blast them into oblivion.

And on top of all that, we now have more experience fighting with an army in that environment than they do. We've basically been having a full scale practice over there every day for over 10 years now.

Well when we sign a treaty with them we will honor it. But the "agreement" between Obama and Iran ended when Obama was no longer in charge.

As to a military option, we would destroy Iran and take the country. BUT boy the gorilla fight there would probably never end. We would win the war but lose a occupation unless we crushed the spirit or the Iranian people to such and extent that resisting would be abhorrent to them. I dont think America is prepared to do what would be needed to quell an insurgency in that area.

Members of Irans Military, ex military and mobs made up of Iranians overthrowed Mosaddegh.

    You are mistaken.

Mohamad Rezā Ŝāh), was the last Shah of Iran from 16 September 1941 until his overthrow by the Iranian Revolution on 11 February 1979.

Cant "install" a regime that has been in place for 11 years.

I looked at several of your universities on this. They said it was legal. This was a treaty with several other countries on a country who the US has been trying to destroy for decades through sanctions - though I understand they should be able to survive and are not in such a bad state as Trump and friends hope. Now regardless of whether you had a right to leave the Treaty, which you did despite it being legal in the US, you did not and do not have the right to sanction other countries for being responsible and honest members of the world and sticking to deals which are made particularly as in this case when the other side, Iran has kept its part.

The US has shown itself to be an untrustworthy partner in the world. This deal took 12 years to make. It began under Bush...but the US like a spoilt child thinks, we want to hurt Iran more, or we do not like the fact that Obama finished this deal so we are going to hurt Iran and everyone who is honourable and keeps to the deal. As you will know the Eu is hoping to take steps to avoid your threats - steps which may quickstep the US end as being the World's reserve-currency. Actions do have consequences. It is yet to be seen if the EU is effective but you could have shot yourself in the foot with your big ego here trying to be world dictator.

I do not think the Iranians spirit is crushable. However it is not impossible that meant or not meant you might take the world to Armageddon.

For it to be a treaty per our Constitution it would have had to been ratified by the Senate. President Obama never did that which is why it was not a treaty between the USA and Iran.

Any populations spirit can be crushed but to do so would require acts of such brutality and destruction that it would sicken the American public. In general the American people like to think of themselves as the "good guys." Can do that when you are lining up every third male in a town and shooting them in reprisals.

I noticed you ignored the answers that I gave you and went into explaining your opinion while trying to assume that you know what I think. I am not worried about going to war with Iran. When another country makes "Death to America" it's main mantra it kind of lets me know how they feel. When they supply weapons to insurgents in order to kill American soldiers it kind of lets me know how they feel. Screw them. I have been to war. I have lost friends to insurgents that were supplied weapons funded and supplied by Iran. Russia's economy wouldn't withstand a war with the US. They know it. If Iran tried to occupy or gain ANY land that doesn't already belong to them I would support whatever action it would take to reacquire that land and prevent any such actions by Iran again. I feel the same about Turkey as I do Iran.

YOU are mistaken. Officially, in simplistic terms, the Shah was in power from 1941 till 1979, but in fact, after Mosaddegh was elected Prime Minister in 1951, the Shah abandoned his post and left the country. He was returned to power after the U.S. & Britain together overthrew Mosaddegh in 1953. From that point, the Shah ruled Iran until the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

I did? I actually went back and... you gave me an old CNN link... https://www.cnn.com/2017/07/19/politics/state-country-terror-report/index.html
Well, the Americans have been at odds with Iran for a while. Am not sure why, but didn't you help Saddam to fight the Iranians? Yes, you did...
Exclusive: CIA Files Prove America Helped Saddam as He Gassed Iran
See? Now you are getting what you sowed!
It never helps to brag! At least I hope Putin will do whatever it takes to avoid a confrontation. Trump doesn't seem eager either.
O.k., sounds fair as long as you allow other countries to retaliate against the US in a similar situation. Are you o.k. with that?
Tit for tat - or... what is good for the goose is good for the gander!
