This attached link has a great article going into health insurance. At my age of 80, I have seen so many changes that when i hear people want the Feds to take this over, it stuns me.

Why? Because when I was a young boy, charges paid to doctors were low. I did not hear of health insurance until probably after 1958. None of my jobs included health care. Even by 1964 at my short stint at GM, I do not recall a health care plan included. The Pile Drivers had nothing to offer. So if we wanted insurance, we had to locate an agent and pay the insurance firm. It was around 1968 that i offered my machine shop workers a kind of health plan. The workers and I would pay part of the charges. For me, the cost was higher since I had the employees but they only had to pay for themselves.

Good article follows. i hope you use the link to read all of it. I would enjoy especially the other older people going into what happened when they were young and what changes they saw.

You’re 80 and don’t like govt. sponsored healthcare ? Why don’t do the rest of us a favor, get off your asteroid, go down to the nearest federal building and apply for an exemption from Medicare. Then, call up any health insurance provider and ask them for a plan that doesn’t cost you thousands a month. .
. This is easily the funniest post today.

It stuns you? You're not stunned by the greed of private services? You're not stunned by the price of healthcare per capita in the U.S. which is roughly DOUBLE what it is in other countries? Take a moment and study this: https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.ne...=5904ca913367999428de4f32c779eb1a&oe=5C49E58E

The right is so funny. A couple of years ago I went to the Veterans' Administration Hospital for some information. On the way to my car there was a guy standing in the garage behind a car with a Bernie bumper sticker on it RANTING quite loudly for anyone to hear about how insulting it was for some socialist to be advertising socialism in the VA parking lot. "Who the hell does he think he is?!!!" And he began directing his rant at me as I went by. So I stopped and said "the VA is a socialist operation!" He was outraged and yelled at me to let me know how wrong I was. I told him the VA isn't a private capitalist business, doesn't make a profit, pays all the doctors a salary, and is funded by taxpayer dollars. He didn't say anything more.

Funny story. When people don’t have a valid reason to complain they have a label. It takes the place of knowledge. Socialism is the label of the month for republicans. We Practice socialism....
Social security is socialism. It’s got to scare the begeesus out or righties to hear the word social anywhere.
