My graveyard shift last night was 12 hours of nonstop pouring rain.

The construction crew left one of their office doors unlocked (the steel container type offices that crews use onsite) and I was able to go inside and stretch my legs there.

Otherwise it was 12 hours of being stuck sitting in my car watching the west approaches to the site.

This assignment is called "guarding a hole in the dirt". However it is the heavy equipment that is used for moving and tunneling through the earth that is the real object. But we still call it guarding a hole in the dirt.

For supper at 0700AM after my shift:

    - seafood noodle soup with vegies

    - white Pinot Grigio wine to wash it down

    - shot of moonshine to chase it.

Today is now my Friday. I work tonight then I have 3 days off to go elk hunting again.

Last week while elk hunting I saw a 5x5 moose and a 2x2 buck deer. But no elk.

Ahahahahah! At least you guys know where to look for me.

I was here when the problem occurred. I contacted the owner and they fixed it.
    Hopefully that's that.

Ok thanks … I was wondering if the slow down was just me or if it was PF-wide.

    I was.
I was dreaming of being in a gondola in Venice and being serenaded by an Italian quartet.

Nero and Caligula were not effective as evidenced by the decline of Rome during their reigns and also as indicated by their assassinations. So fear does not work.

But then love does not work either.

Julius Caesar was one of the most loved leaders in history yet he was assassinated.

I can't decide what to cook for dinner today before my final graveyard shift of the week.

But I do need to make a fresh BBQ beef burrito for later tonight.

Maybe I'll go to KFC and get some delicious greasy chicken.

The Zombies were a popular group back in the mid 1960's and this song was one of their hits back then.

You have reminded me of it @Falena .

    A blast from the past.

Sulla, the very effective brutal dictator restored the Roman Republic. The very effective Julius Caesar finished it off and set the stage for the jackass Emperors.

Government is necessary and inherently evil. Figuring out how to check and balance the power of government to do harm has always been an impossible challenge for humanity's greatest minds. The US model has been under extreme stress at least since WW I.

“ If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In forming a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.” —James Madison, The Federalist No. 51

That even though you eat like a whale, you may not be getting
the necessary vitamins & minerals.Which explains yer constant urge
to eat,fix meals and make sure never skip a meal.
Which happens to be the condition that Shrews face.
Depending on what type shrew they need to consume enough
calories { for some 3 times their own body weight per day } in order
to stay alive.Shrews also have to worry about falling asleep.
Sleep too long and they may be too weak to go out and salvage
    for more Eats.

But a shrew that can take down an elk can just relax and smell the coffee.

Beer talk w/o the beer.More like take down 2 large breakfast and an
extra lunch then on to an early dinner and then 2 bednight snacks.
I Mean even the nearest family of Shrew might consider having
a nice portrait of Yiostheoy adorning their underground bunker.
    He be their Hero.

Martha Hubbard who lived in a shoe
and ate like a shrew, went to her cupboard.
Wearing her shiny brand new leopard-skin
pill box hat.Like some funky Cat in a hat.
Finding no food, instead turned to some trusty chew.
Grabbed that pouch and thanked Red Man,who
thanked her back with a plug.
As Martha Hubbard went for a walk
spitting that chaw as she crowed for something
    to please her belly.
    So she laughed.

Then again some think they post. You know like in
    a dream.
Then again some post as if dreaming and mess up the entire
    works.
    Say's I.
    I mean ... Me's.
