    That won't make the "caravans" go away.

    It is too bad they did not change the immigration laws in the 2 years they had full control. Now the chances are that GOP will lose the House, which will make it impossible to do.

    I'll repeat: US laws permits illegals to apply for asylum. Both legal and illegal immigrants can be deported for various reasons.

    Exactly @jay runner. Immigration law and particularly the asylum process.

    Honduras can fix itself; it is not the responsibility of the US to fix Honduras.

    Well, it is too bad they didn't do it when they had the chance. Maybe it's like abortion, where keeping the problem carries more political capital than abolishing it.

    The current asylum process already gives the immigration officers an easy & quick way to deny the applications, which I believe will happen with this "caravan".

    Actually massive fines and prison time for hiring illegals would solve the problem. And if we gave part of the fine to whistle blowers ( illegals included) the issue would disappear in no time.

    This one will - just look at what they did on the southern Mexican border - they stormed it - thousands got through somehow (or do we hear about the thousands and thousands who are not heading BACK to Honduras!? - no, we don't!)

    Try amnesty for companies to get rid of their illegals, punishment would be counterproductive. The money wasted in fines could go towards paying American workers or invested in growing the company. Punishing Americans for the crimes of illegal aliens is not the proper method...

    Who cares? We should be adequately prepared for a town-sized group of people trying to infiltrate our nation. These are not invited guests and they are NOT our problem. We're talking THOUSANDS.

    Of course we're going to prepare for such a problem. What kind of Operational Security are you trying to run here?
