    I have a Hurricane Elena 1985 generator that still runs like a top. Because I paid hard-earned money I take care of my stuff and maintain it with precision. I gave away a Hurricane Frederick 1979 generator to a family in dire need, and if I still had it, it would run like a top. And I know how to survive in a natural disaster if I live through the initial cataclysm of it, and have experience doing so. Didn't buy anything for Y2K because I had everything on the shelf. Turned out the MSM Y2K hype was nothing but bullshit anyway -- as usual.

    Should we take a clue from the ISRAELIS in how to deal with pesky unwanted invaders constantly at our doorstep? If so, then 1. Build the wall ASAP. 2. Send in the military. 3. Ease the Rules of Engagement (live fire permitted if needed.) 4. Shut down the border until Mexico actually HELPS us stop the invaders.

    Whoa, whoa, whoa - relax, dude, I'm sure this is a one-off, the one and only caravan of invaders that we'll ever have. Take a chill pill.

    Fleeing oppression and poverty in the hope of a better life for one's children is not behavior decent people condemn, and those that do would act likewise if they were in such a plight.

    The fact is that folks desperate to keep their families alive have the legal right to apply for asylum, a protection granted to foreign nationals at the border who meet the international law definition of a “refugee.” The UN defines a refugee as a person who is unable or unwilling to return to his or her home country, and cannot obtain protection in that country, due to past persecution or a well-founded fear of being persecuted in the future on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.

    Braying that families demonstrating an intent to apply for asylum at the border are Middle Eastern terrorists, rapists, criminal gangs, or members of the Barbershop Harmony Society may scare the trump out of some folks, but they do have the right to apply.
    There is a difficult and complex process for such applicants that can involve multiple government agencies.

    Yes, the caravan of illegal aliens may apply for asylum in Mexico, to enter the United States. We will reject that town-sized crowd from entering our nation.

    Applying for asylum is the legal route, no matter what you need to call the applicants.

    Asylum is for those persecuted in their home country. No one persecuted in their home country would proudly display the flag of the country that drove them out. Jews fleeing Nazi Germany never waved the Nazi flag as they left. Asylum denied!

    Correct. This is a very simple fact, and yet very few understand it. Or maybe they understand it, but are annoyed/irritated by the fact that it is true.

    They have the right to apply, and US will process the applications, and US also has the right to approve, or reject them. It is a legal form of immigration, but far from automatic.

    Kasich made good comments about them today.

    No, there is no requirement that you must be persecuted by the government, but I agree the applications will likely be denied.

    They can be denied even if they do meet the requirements. Such as a lack of credible history of the individual.

    80% of the last caravan were immediately denied any claim for asylum, the other 20% were allowed to claim. They were allowed into the US where they are eligible to claim full welfare benefits while their applications are processed.
