Actually, I've only created three threads meant to discuss topics I feel are important. I don't hate anyone.

The title of the website is Politicalforum.com.

What do you feel would be more appropriate to discuss here?

The Kardashians? Stupid pet tricks? The weather..........?

Well he was intent on destroying the Russians, whom he considered the greatest threat to "humanity"....and afaic, he would've used it on the SU.

Sure, OK, the US "stepped" over the line. It brought about the end of the war that much quicker.

Lol...stripey, you're forgetting a book written by Kurt Magnus, called Raketenskalven(rocket slave), in German, the real brains behind the soviet nuclear/space programs.

    Hitler cared for humanity.

The Soviets obviously did not. They developed a huge nuclear arsenal.

What is insulting is the dribble that’s being peddled: America conspired with the Nazis to build an atomic bomb while that great humanitarian Hitler rejected to do so out of concern for life on earth. And all while he’a slaughtering 6 million plus humans, has Hans and Sophie Schultz hung for treason, and enacted a scorch earth possible.

So, according to this scenario, the great humanitarian Hiller tried to save the world from the evil Americans ruled by Truman, but Hitler’s treasonous cohorts sold him out to the OSS in exchange for uranium and safe passage to that Nazi refuge paradise called Argentina. Then Truman, in defiance of his humane, but militarily brilliant Generals and chief of staff advisors, and out of hatred and racism ordered the weakless, innocent beautiful Japanese women and childern nuked off the planet. And all because America is an evil, selfish society that hates anybody not White.

    Now, that’s insulting.

Fascists deserve nuking, especially the religious ones today. Nuke ‘em all, and wipe them off the planet.

I might have to search the book when I get home, but from what I remember from Albert Speer's book is that he said when they realized that they could not get the bomb for a number of years and they knew the war would be over before then, they cancelled the bomb program and moved all uranium to munitions or for electrical power projects.

That's not quite true my friend ... because the Nazis actually continued to build on the atomic bomb until the end of the war. According to official historiography and the esteem of most experts, they were in development about 9-12 months behind the US!

Correct ... but that was because it even here in the hot war a deterrent worked. Every country had had a large arsenal of poison gas ammunition throughout the war ... and everyone knew that if I used poison gas first, the other one would use it afterwards.
The military value was therefore also zero ... and in addition there is the assumption that in the case of Germany was so that Hitler had reservations here, because he himself was gas victims in the WW-1!

I haven't quoted the Powers book. You have. I actually quoted three other authors you clearly haven't read.

PS, I don't want to correct anything.

That's the guy. But I very much doubt he adopted whatever marxist thingybob it is you said he adopted. But credit where credit is due; he did leak the Pentagon Papers. He gets marks for that in my book.

I was especially taken by that part of them that revealed that the US had concluded years earlier that the war in Indochina couldn't be won, but no one had the balls to stop the damn thing, because it would have reflected badly on US decision making during the cold war. Gotta admire stubborn stupidity of that kind. It's kinda like proceeding to build the most expensive warplane in the history of the world knowing it's crap and is never going to work - ever - but continuing with it anyway.

Generally I agree. That however didn't stop Hitler reaching an accord with Stalin (the Molilotov Ribbentrop pact) just prior to WWII starting. In the final analysis all politicians are inherently liars and manipulators and apply double-standards whenever it suits them.

The end of the war was already there. The Japanese were already prepared to surrender as long as the Emperor could remain in situ. He did anyway as that was anyway the American decision and perception of how to proceed post war in order to stabilise and rebuild Japan.

Dropping the bomb was nothing more than sending a signal to the Soviets: "look what we have". Fortunately or not the Soviets already knew everything anyway as they had penetrated the Manhattan Project and British intelligence too -- and were already working on making their bomb to offset the US weapon.

I understand that in the last part of the war Hitler reconsidered his position and concluded the Soviets to be more trustworthy than the US; but it was too late to change things. The best he could hope for was to preserve the Third Reich by moving it to Argentina where preparations had been made for it. This happened following negotiations between Allen Dulles and Martin Bormann to turn over Nazi weapons and Rocket technology to the US in exchange for freedom.

The most secret and advanced weapons - and many of the Nazi VIPS - they took with them to Bariloche, Argentina however (Bormann himself lived in the best hotel in Buenos Aires though).

Lol. Did they drop the first atom bomb?

    Presumably that doesn't count though?

Oh well, once myopia gets a grip it always has you in its embrace I guess.

Feel lucky you got that given your daily diet of blinkered obstinacy.

I'm going to leave it at that. If you want to embarrass yourself that's your affair.

Hiroshima saved millions of lives. An invasion of Japan would have made D-Day at Normandy look like a birthday party.

You really will swallow literally any old tripe that makes the US look evil, won't you? Even by your fanciful standards this is pretty sad. The Nazis were still working hard to develop a bomb as late as 1943, which is why the Allies found it necessary to repeatedly sabotage heavy water production in Norway.

The history of uranium production for the Manhattan Project has been well documented by people who write books rather than producing youtube videos. Assuming the Nazis even had U-235 to give, the US had plenty already.

I keep waiting to see what further depths you will sink to. Still waiting to hit the bottom.

Its too bad that for some of the foreigners inserting themselves into our business “goodby” does not mean they are actually going to go away as they promised
