You are correct....let me add though, problems in education are not just one dimensional. As much as any factor support at home is as important as anything. There is little support from parents to do well in school when you realize two things. First, a college degree has become as mandatory for employment with higher pay as a HS education used to be. Secondly, how supportive are parents in their kids education at lower levels when they realize a college degree is as expensive as buying a new house.

Does throwing money at education solve all the problems ? Let’s answer it this way. If conservatives are willing to throw money at the military and throw money into the coffers of businesses in the form of tax breaks and grants, let’s throw some into college tuition first.

If colleges is within reach of everyone, IMO, parents will be more demanding of their kids and more willing to support education st the lower levels.

Do you know what makes people more liberal ? A good education. If you are taught the scientific method and apply it to governance, the law and economics, you throw away trickle down economics and practice informed democracy without voter suppression, and approach immigration comprehensively .
