Thanks for advising me......I thought they'd have to check with me.

The point is, if their "grounds" are ridiculous they will pay dearly for their folly.

Since (as I said) they have nothing......they will do nothing.

Except talk a lot.......that's what they do best. Talk.

Your point is without merit. The Dems will do what is best for the People and the party.

My approach would (initially) involve several committee hearings and subpoenas.

The Democrats will do the same thing in 2024 and try to impeach Trump.

"No grounds"...? That didn't stop them from deliberately starting and funding a fake series of 'revelations' leading to this idiotic 'Russia-hacked-the-election-for-Trump' nonsense. I wouldn't put ANYTHING past them....

At this point, it's all going to be a quid pro quo between Democrats in the House, and Trump. If Trump doesn't oppose the Democrats' new attempts to impose their 'Socialism-lite' agenda, they won't impeach him. If he does, they'll impeach him.

But, he's such a rebel that my guess is he really doesn't care if they DO impeach him. Anybody who's been paying attention for the past two years knows that all this "Russia" nonsense is just a bunch of contrived bullshit. Being impeached by this gaggle of radical, America-hating Democrat morons may actually make something of a 'hero' out of him to most of us!

Yet nobody has ever been able to display this faking. Because you just made it all up. It's hat you do. Do you do it out of Stalinist devotion, or do you get paid?

The detachment from reality there is amusing. Yep, you're a Trump fan. How many convictions now? And things are just getting started, being that the corrupt congress has been actively obstructing justice. Hopefully, we'll see Nunes in jail for that.

You people of relative morality -- anything goes for your own side -- will always hate those of us with an absolute sense of right and wrong. The shining light of our moral absolutism affects you much like sunlight burning a vampire, so you lash out at the source of the pain.

Of course they will. They have wanted to ruin him since the day he won the election and they won't let anything stop them now that they can do it.

Silly stalinist-like devotion to Trump is obvious in this thread.

The Dems will not impeach him. Unless . . . he fires or seriously limits Mueller. Then the Dems can subpoena the Mueller files, and if Trump claims executive privilege, watch what happens next.

You are right. Democrats in the House can impeach him for any reason they want including bad hair. All they need is a majority vote to impeach and in January they will have those votes.

My opinion it would be political suicide to attempt an impeachment without any teeth. The Dems have finally got a bit of clout in DC now and how they use it will determine their collective futures. If they attempt this show (as that is all it would be) Trump is going to employ his new Conservative Attorney General (hence why he has Whitaker in there now) to take off the gloves and hunt down every slimy deal, discussion, and money trail the Dems have left out there for the last 10 years. It would be a blood fest and the only winner would be Trump.

On the other hand, If the Dems get smart and use their new found power to reach across the isle, make a few deals, score some wins, they will have an opportunity to gander some support come 2020. If the country sees 2 more years of resist and nothing to show for it while Trump continues to march on with his Senate and EO powers, it will all but guarantee his reelection.

    Thats how I see it.

All evidence to the contrary, what have they done in the last 2 years other than the resist movement. Was that best for the people? Can you provide us with a list of Dem accomplishments since the inauguration?

I hate to rain on your parade but Mueller doesn't have anything. If he did Trump would squash the investigation. He's only allowing Mueller to run free because he is empty handed.

I think they'll try to impeach him over and over and over again, and do little else.

And the senate will continually quash it, and the dems will lose the house at the earliest opportunity.

There is one possibility that isn't being considered

Mueller drops absolutely incontrovertible evidence that Putin and Trump did the whole thing together, (which is what I think will happen)

And then the Senate is called upon to either

    a. do the right thing
    b. do the wrong thing

The Dems have been in the minority the last two years yet doing the People's business.

They will pick up as many as 37 seats.

You don't understand how it works. He has not squashed it before, he won't squash it now. Trump is afraid of what Mueller has. He does not know, you don't know, but I know who does know and it is not what you hope.

I think I got a good grasp on it. The president is the chief executive of the federal government, and the Constitution vests all executive power in him. Everyone below him works at his pleasure. In our constitutional system, police powers are executive powers. They may not be wielded by any other branch of the federal government. This is why Mueller's Russia investigation is not an independent counsel. He answers to the president and reports to Justice Department leadership. (Hence Whitaker being appointed until Trump finds another conservative to be nominated)

The president is the chief executive of the federal government, and the Constitution vests all executive power in him. Everyone else who works in the executive branch is a subordinate, delegated to exercise the president’s power at the president’s pleasure. The president is the superior of the attorney general, who in turn is the superior of the FBI director.

How am I doing so far?

In other words, Trump has the authority to order an end to the investigation, given that the intelligence agencies report directly to him. But it would be politically disastrous for him to do so which other presidents have done in the past.

Given the current climate of our government, Dems have the majority in the house, Sessions is out, a conservative will run the DOJ, and Repubs own the senate,

Trump isn't killing the investigation because he doesn't need to. If they had actual evidence of treason, (This collusion witch hunt) that would be worse than the political fallout of killing the investigation. I don't think Dems will put up much of a fuss on Impeachment either. They have no way to remove Trump. Needs 2/3 of the Senate, Ain't happening.

If Dems do start this fiasco you are going to see a conservative DOJ bringing all kinds of indictments across the board on Dems. Benghazi, Uranium one, steele dossier, Clinton Foundation, Shipping billions to Iran, Fast and furious, and the list could go on for pages.

Point being the only survivor of this blood bath would be Trump or at least until 2020.

So the point being, Trump is allowing the Mueller investigation to move forward, Mueller already stated he wasn't going to release the finding of the investigation until after midterms (Meaning he doesn't have anything to shoot down Trump or he would have used it) and given the obvious leaking in our government coupled with the hatred for Trump you would have already heard thousands of hours of CNN spouting, anonymous sources have confirmed that blah blah blah parroted by every Dem right before the midterms. Never happened.

I think the results of Mueller's investigation is pretty obvious.

By impeaching President Trump, the Democrats would not lose their 'punching bag'.

Trump would be impeached, but would not be removed from office by the Senate, so the whole thing would just be part of the same shitty little 'drama' that the radical Democrats use to keep their faithful in a state of bug-eyed agitation.
