Spending has trended upwards since the 30s.
Receipts trend with that, until Bush and R's reduced revenues.
Now R's and tRuMP have reduced revenues again, while increasing spending.

Lol, you are mistaken, there is no evidence that peoples lives will improve with privatization, corporate profits will improve, but the common person will not. What you are advocating for is obscene, it would result in tens or millions uninsured, many homeless elderly people and a steep decline in life expectancy. These are just more Neoliberal lies, who want austerity and privatization so they can spiral us into a second great depression with no safety rails at all. Totally inhumane and irresponsible. If Republicans voted for these policies, they would be out for decades.

The R’s aren’t responsible for the increases in government spending.

Actually, Trump's rise in GDP will and creation of jobs is doing America a great service. Obama, and his worst recovery in the modern era sunk American into a hole that Trump, is currently getting us out of.

Obama was the worst Present in American history. Trump is one of the best. By far. Trump > Obama. Obama also did illegal drugs and lied to get into office.

Too funny. What do federal employees do for health insurance. The nation of Chile and the three counties in Texas show that private social security programs pay double what the government system pays.

Agreed. Why is Obama’s past a virtual mystery and how is it that the MSM showed no interest in vetting him ??

How much retooling does it need? We're so insecure about our damned military. It's fine.

Chile is one of the most unequal countries and it has nationalized their carbon business. When are they going to take your advice and privatize that?

Go ask Kansas how small government is doing, it was so bad this red State voted in a Democrat governor. If you really want to sabotage your future and your party, then sure you can go after them.

What is the source for that BS on Chile ??

What does Kansas have to do with anything ??

BTW - which President established one of his important governance goals as reducing the size of government ?? He stated in his state of the union speech that ‘the era of big government is over’.

Guess which country is #1 in this list, Chile.

And may I introduce you to Codelco, the state owned mining enterprise which is the largest producer of copper in the world.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codelco

Perhaps if 100% of your education wasn't right wing propaganda, you would know these rather well known facts about Chile.

And Kansas is reeling from massive budget cuts that have that Red State turning Blue. That is what would happen if you got your way.

Lol, the "era of big government is over," so lets run a deficit and build up the military! Bet you believed that one too.

I happen to think full employment, record low unemployment for blacks and hispanics, record GDP growth, record cutting of food stamp recipients and consumer confidence highest in 18 years to be an economic boom.

Unfortunately, this boom has some fallout, and that would be the debt. I was sick about Obama running up the debt like a drunken sailor, and Trump's taking it to a new level. The difference, however, is that with Trump we GET something for it. Obama was just a boat anchor on the economy. He did NOTHING to boost the economy in 8 years. It recovered despite him, not because of him. That would be why he presided over the slowest economic recovery in the history of our nation.

So what ?? Inequality is a meaningless statistic. The most important statistic is the real median household income. And what does copper have to do with anything ?? And why have you no understanding of Chile’s private social security system ??

The President who said that is Bill Clinton who ran a surplus. He was a supply sider.

Lol, asks me to prove my "BS" about Chile, then when I do, you minimize it. Inequality is not a meaningless statistic, it represents millions of people living in horrid conditions.

Median income in the US is about $59k, median income in Chile is $800 USD. Seems to indicate a very unequal society where there are loads of people living in total poverty.

And Chile is the largest producer of copper and provides 1/3 of all Copper in the world. And the largest firm in Chile is state owned, but you herald them as a stellar accomplishment of privatization. LOL. What a joke.

Go interview the poor in Chile, ask them how the private social security program is working out.

Of course Clinton was a "supply sider" which is why he is despised by the Left and castigated as a Neoliberal who is no different from the Republicans.

But come on, those billionaires needed more corporate welfare and permanent tax cuts. Its hard to bounce money all over the world to avoid paying your fair share of taxes. The billionaires are tired!

None of them are intelligent enough to read what happened to the Simpson-Bowles recommendations and who crushed them. Namely the republicans led by Paul Ryan. The republicans ensured that Obama would never be successful in trying to pay down the debt. Can't have that uppity, intelligent black guy doing things that they never could.

It means no such thing. Your ignorance is showing. Do some homework on the Chilean economy, it's private social security system, and it's success as a nation after implementing supply side economic policies from the Chicago Boys.

Your statistics are BS. What is the source of the $800 figure ?? Ridiculous. In 2007 the real median household income of the US was ~ $30K. In Chile it was ~ $8k. In Mexico it was ~ $5K.

    https://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/docse...est&checksum=B9A6C97537CCE7BDD34553D152E928AF

Who is claiming that the state owned copper industry is an accomplishment of privatization ?? Bizarre.

Clinton's economic success is held as the poster child for the D party. It is claimed that the D's were the only party which has produced a budget surplus. The problem is that it was supply side policies that resulted in those surpluses along with the budget reductions of welfare reform, reduced military spending due to the collapse of the USSR thanks to Reagan's increased military spending, and actions to reduce the size of the federal government.
