    The main issues does Israel have the engineering and scientific expertise to have thermonuclear weapons and deploy them, they have the most advanced regional military and modern engineering and plenty of scientists with the needed expertise so its likely they do and well they should test one to show they have them even a small device. That said would you want to risk invading them now if they are bluffing you face a determined defense force and with them they could take your nations down with them or used them first to crippled massing forces.

    I must add after what happened to the Jewish people up to and including WW2 they have a huge interest in having nuclear weapons to prevent another genocide of the Jews in their homeland.

    I'd guess not full thermonuclear weapons.

    But boosted A-bombs with a 90 kiloton yield, certainly.

    Well it might've been. Remember that unexplained possible nuclear test in the Indian Ocean IIRC in the late 1970s IIRC. Many have believed it was a joint Israeli/South African nuclear test.
