That's why organisations like the EPA are so important. Corporations are under pressure from their shareholders to maximise return. One way to do that is to minimise costs by lowering environmental standards.

The current administration wants to weaken the EPA. This will have an environmental impact. The key questions are whether the impact is significant and whether the benefits are worth the environmental costs.

 

I'm a strong believer in regulations because I believe it is the responsibility of a government to protect the citizenry from corporate greed.

As for the current EPA - don't get me started!
