Well, simple empirical observation has been telling us that the climate is changing, as it has for millions of years. No doubt about that. And, yes, there has been 'global warming' -- scientists tell us that the planet's temperature has increased (hold your breath!) -- 1.33°F (0.74ºC), in the past ONE HUNDRED YEARS. It is also true that Carbon Dioxide has increased slightly in recent decades, and is now measured at (better sit down!)... 0.04% of the Earth's atmosphere. :confusion: . :sleepy:

What is not clear is how much of this is due to man's presence on the planet, but, yes, human population has increased tremendously in the past 100 years also, even though there have been two major world wars, etc., etc.

Anyway, bottom line, liberal governments of "the West" have decided that no matter WHAT the cause is, or if it's even a purely natural process -- YOU, the taxpayer, need to be charged a great deal more of YOUR money because of it, even if you live in a country like the United States, which has all but completely eliminated its air pollution problems during the past forty years....

Yeah it's ridiculous how people fall for this. Not that I have anything against Green or more ecological things. Windmills solar panels hybrid cars, all of them are good things. Plus from a business standpoint it makes sense.

But this doomsday crap that's just a religion. And just like religions the most sanctimonious people within them are often the worst offenders of them.

Most republicans never doubted it. This is juat another democrat lie. Its a simple science. More co2 emissions means warmer climate and the dangers that come with it.
the difference is we wont preech about it because we know we aren't gonna give up our cars. Neither are democrats, yet they still want to preech about it. You know your role model leonardo Dicaprio flew his private gas guzzling jet to a globa warming conference...pathetic just like the rest of them.
Want to stop global warming? Start making legislation where people have to work from home if they can. Lots of cubicle jobs these days can be done with nothing but laptop and Internet connection.
Also lets make electric cars the mainstream amd make them cheaper. You wont see these commin sense solutions though becauae they are not profitable. All these climate changw fanatics are hypocritical morons. You wanna fix it? Man up and trade your car in for a horse. Im down for a change in lifestyle of our money hungry government has the balls to act on it!

Well this all boils down to money. And they were able to sell this Doomsday prophecy as basically a religion. Look at every comment on here with regard to it there's zero skepticism. It's all listen and believe.

I said it was about money and I believe it is money equals power. And this seems to be a partisan issue because Republicans get a lot of their money from the oil industry, and coal mining. Democrats are using is there version of church which is academia to attack the purse strings.

This is absolutely nothing but political posturing.

I defy you to find someone who thinks climate never changes.

The dishonesty you and CNN are putting on display is beyond the pale since everyone knows climate changes. What we don't believe that the looney birds on your side believe after the failed "global warming" label is that man causes climate change.

Just for once please get your facts straight.

Instead of everybody going f*cking nuts over the temperature of the Earth increasing less than 2 degrees Fahrenheit during the last 100 years, I wish that we'd all go crazy about the amount of trash, filth, pollution, and dangerous toxic waste that is pouring into our oceans and waterways! To my mind, THAT is a far, far greater problem for ALL of us!

Hint: horrific amounts of dangerously radioactive, toxic waste is still gushing into the Pacific Ocean from the Japanese Fukushima reactors, over seven years after the "accident" there which followed a gigantic earthquake (which Japan seems to have on a regular basis).... Do you eat seafood that comes out of the Pacific Ocean...? Not me.

I think that climate change is real. The climate has ALWAYS been in a state of change. It would be unusual if the climate WASN'T changing.

Further, I have seen reasonable evidence that man has contributed to climate change, to the extent that his emission of excess greenhouse gases can affect the climate. Some say it has had a huge effect, some say it has had little effect. It is probably somewhere in between.

What I am absolutely positive of, is that crooked people are using a vast FUD campaign to blow the above two way out of proportion for no reason other than to relieve others of billions of dollars to line their own coffers. This, I cannot support.

I do not think we should stop developing clean energy, or lose focus on a cleaner environment. I do not blame those who have been duped into supporting the thieves. I do think we should pay close attention and try to see who it is getting rich from pimping the so-called imminent climate change "disaster".

Name one long term prediction your pseudo scientists made about the weather and global warming that came true.

Just one Legal. I can name at least 13 they got laughably wrong.

    Go ahead.

So all but 90% believe in something for which there is no evidence. Amazing.

There are boulders in New York City's Central Park that were swept there by long since receded glaciers. New York's Finger Lakes were carved out by glaciers. Those glaciers are gone because things warmed up a bit and that warming in no way, shape or form can be blamed on man and there was no way anyone was ever going to prevent it.

How many is 'so many?' Doesn't science need to be proven until it becomes fact, and once it becomes fact, don't all scientists believe it?

Were humans responsible for the disappearance of the Wisconsin ice sheet?

You guys on the left have been brainwashed and people are profiting from it. Worse yet, you're using global warming as a fear tactic all while accusing the right of fear tactics. If we had believed your own global warming gods, the ice caps would already be gone and coastal cities would be flooded, what happened? Better still, if anyone really believed in global warming they would not live near a coast. What states live along coasts and how do they lean politically? They might believe in global warming just enough to be politically correct, but when it comes to their money and life styles they don't seem to believe it at all.

At a rate that is roughly 1/50th of the rate seen in the last 100 years.

    Retractionwatch.com? Beforeitsnews.com?

Dude. And yes, I am dismissing your source without even clicking on the link.

There are tens of thousands of actual peer reviewed journals and scientists who support this theory with literally billions of points of data. I do not care about your ability to find the ~2% of credible scientists/papers that conflict.

If we can agree that the starting point for the warming event began without human assistance, that would be a great thing...
