That is correct; the most accurate poll is the one conducted on election day.

Still funny as all get out. So very certain of themselves, still making such certain predictions. Some folks just don't learn.

Yeah, he should just paint himself half black and drone some weddings and he would be given one...lol!

Is it true you left here for some time, after that fateful night you were so badly mistaken in your certainties and guarantees?

The Nobel doesn't mean anything after Obama got one for being half-black.

Very true; as you are probably aware of I maintain that the only truly accurate poll is the one conducted on election day; all others are merely wish lists. :)

Yep, I maintain polls exist merely to sway public opinion and appeal to groupthink, herd mentality.

You'll be OK, we survived 8 years of Obama. In 2012, I made a sign and put on the highway that said "vote for Elmo".

Well, it showed me just another example of how partisanship blinds most minds. I knew there was something going on within this nation, when sanders got such great support, against the unbeatable clinton, and then this fire coming from trump supporters. So, not being a dem or repub, a non partisan, I called the election for trump, once sanders got beat out, with some help from MSM and the DNC. For there were just too many people wanting change from the status quo. Whether it was sanders or trump, both represented change, or at least perceived change.

You can check my history on this, as it is recorded right here on this forum. I would have been surprised if trump had not won, actually. But partisans are blinded by their partisanship, rendering them in many cases irrelevant, due to a disconnection from reality. And yet they persist, but tenaciousness is a facet of being a partisan. ha ha. Delusions tends to be tenacious, and hard to get rid of.

I am convinced, more or less, that my connection to reality is a good one, and it isn't shared by many on political forums, given who is attracted to such forums. Just an observation folks. I think it has to do with me detesting blind partisanship and tribalism. But I value minds that are at least somewhat capable of some objectivity. Sad to say, these days, there are not that many. IMO, of course.

This thread is a good example of that, IMO. Such certainty! ha ha I would not trust the judgment of these sorts and generally do not. One must sort the diamonds from the dung hills, whether it involves politically driven people or MSM. Not much difference between the two in my book.

I think this graph demonstrates how meaningless Rassmussen numbers are as the sole source of measurement.

Yes and the recent election sent a rather loud message, don't you think?

That a sitting President can expect to lose house seats in his first midterm?

So its merely a process thing and not a message being sent by the voters. I get it.

No, you don't. No one was surprised by the Dem taking over the house because such a thing is not an uncommon occurrence.
BUT, if you want to continue you down your line, you can say it sent considerably less of a message to Trump that it sent to Clinton in 94 and Obama in 2010.

1994, in the middle of President Bill Clinton's first term. As a result of a 54-seat swing in membership from Democrats to Republicans, the Republican Party gained a majority of seats in the United States House of Representatives for the first time since 1952 and a majority of votes for the first time since 1946. It was also the largest seat gain for the Republican Party since 1946, and the largest for either party since 1948.

Although the President's party usually loses congressional, statewide and local seats in midterm elections, the 2010 midterm election season featured some of the biggest losses since the Great Depression. The Republican Party gained 63 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, recapturing the majority, and making it the largest seat change since 1948 and the largest for any midterm election since the 1938 midterm elections

The 2018 United States elections were held in the United States on Tuesday, November 6, 2018...In the House of Representatives elections, Democrats made a net gain of at least 40 seats.

Clearly, in SoCal, I would suggest that yes, the process effectively delivered democrats to congress against the will of the people in those districts for whom the majority voted for the repulicans and end up sending democrats instead. I'd call that a process problem.

I feel I used enough short words to allow the broad audience the ability to share in my observation. Obviously, that didn't mean everyone....
