Actually it is unless the law changed making prostitution legal.

People get locked up for soliciting all the time. Trumpster rationalizations are really out there these days! Ridiculouser and ridiculouser.

And the crime isn't paying for sex anyway, as you dishonestly claim.

The crime is failing to report a payment for silence (an in kind service) on a matter that would have quite an impact on a national election, given that revalation of it would have come right on the heels of the "access Hollywood" tape, as a campaign contribution, AND exceeded the individual limit on said contribution.

Now, you can move on to the equally pathetic argument that this is legal because Trump authorized it and didn't pay for it out of campaign funds. Sorry, but that paper trail is pretty well set in concrete.

He wasn't quite that high profile during that time, with leftist media trying to make news. Rumors were already floating, and Dems were looking for stories...we saw the playbook unfold with Kavenaugh, and obviously with Daniels regardless of the NDA...that cause obviously got tossed, and she and her attorney went down in disgrace.

So true. And now it's pretty much assured that trump committed crimes to get elected, making his presidency illegitimate. I hope he's not on suicide watch.

his presidency wouldn't really be illegitimate. There is only one legal/constitutional mechanism for removing a president. it's irrelevant how he/she got into office.

As an initial matter, you and I both know that I can pile a bunch of additional facts regarding the multiple affairs that makes this story bigger than a "mere extramarital affair."

With that said, the fact that you started off your answer with "not really" means that you would want to know. That it would have some impact on your decision making. And if it would have any impact at all, then it is something that might benefit the political campaign.

    1) like what?
    2) Guess I should have been more clear...if Trump had an affair a decade plus prior, it would have no effect on voting for him. I was well aware of his past with affairs....as was the general public.

Or there's only one and the bullshit shoveled by Republicans over the past 10 years, the 13 different investigations into her, the fact Bill got impeached sorta indicate.

Seems accusations are convictions when it comes to democrats and convictions are fake news when it comes to republicans.

Nice to see YOU don't have any double standards on ethics, morals, and legality. I mean that would be totally hypocritical and we all know republicans remain true to their bumperstickers - unless its not convenient in which case they'll happily do things like pump up the debt to give themselves tax breaks.

Lyin' cheating crooked donnie. Lowering the bar on greatness in America every day. Be loud, be proud and ignore the laughter and derision you hear around the world. Your'e bigly winning afterall.

I disagree. Theft is wrong. Our system is representative democracy, so any strategy that circumvents Constitutional representation is illegitimate. But what can be done legally and constitutionally about that? Nothing. If conditions exist and proper process are followed, impeachment can be available, but that is separate from the facts of how one got into office, and in this case the way it happened looks to have been illegitimate. Unfortunately we have no laws that provide a remedy for stealing one's way into office.

but there is no mechanism to declare a president "illegitimate". Think of it this way. Let's say that the birthers were right about Obama, and was in fact ineligible to be president. There is no way to remove a president from office, other than impeachment.

    yes I agree with this.

Not nearly as he was when he ran for office....not to many people were all interested in doing stories about the host of a NBC program...running for President took him to a much higher profile.

But I already agreed, as you indicated. You're right about this. Let's not confuse a fact with a law. Fact is he is illegitimate. Law is that it doesn't matter.
