The man made a prize fool of himself. Pelosi and Schumer owned him.

And in the end, he volunteered to own any government shutdown.

He looked like an ineffective jackass. He made fun of two Midwest states. He mentioned other methods of protecting the border, but he didn't mention how to find those methods. Overall, it looks good going forward. Hopefully, nothing of any meaning is passed for a few years.

Pelosi called him on what exactly? Schumer looked pretty bad, imo. I personally would like more details and access to how DC deals go down. It sounds like someone isn't willing to mortgage the public's interest to keep the D.C. machine rolling, and the career politicians are none too happy about it.

So, who is his opposition? What intersectional, self aggrandizing superstar of identity politics with an air of smugness and disdain for middle class and blue collar middle America are you going to run? How many votes will be harvested for this box checker candidate? This is how bad it is in the united states political environment. I'm already getting myself ready to vote for a Gary Johnson type candidate again because post modernist progressives are absolute lunatics and Trump isn't making D.C. implode fast enough.

I get that there are many americans who don't think character is all that important in their president.

Lying Cheatin' Corrupt Donnie, lowering the bar of Greatness in America and the world. Proudly owned by his many admirers. Bigly sad.

Well......that little performance today.......showed the world the state of affairs in the Donald regime. Have seem more mature and articulate behaviour at kindergarten . Nancy held her own.......with at least some dignity Pence looked totally ineffective . Like he wished he was at least a thousand miles away.If this is transparency......... what is un-professional?? We have to have higher expectations.. as this really reelects badly on the population and the country.

How to find those methods? How about from the current Homeland Security Budget proposal that trump apparently feels is insufficient.

If you look at the US Customs and Border Protection Services section, you'll find a rather detail plan of border protection with defined annual goals and achievement. You'll notice that they WAY ahead on many of their previously forecast implementation goals. And many of those "methods" were implemented BEFORE trump.

When trumpettes start screaming about "dems" want open borders, they are demonstrating their ignorance of the facts.

Trump makes it sound that without his wall, America is open to invasion. this is clearly idiotic stupid bullshit. But its a great emotional symbol of nationalist paranoia.

They wanted to spin the scenario of the meeting in their favor and truth be damned. Last time they did this Schumer crapped himself and blew up the negotiations because Trump called **** hole countries **** hole countries. Schumer never had any intention of working out an agreement. If they solve the problem then the Democrats look bad for not being part of the solution. They can't afford for a wall to be built. It might work. Can't have that. This time he just let the press stay and it shook Chuck you Schumer and Pelosi. They didn't expect that. It ruined their plans to lie about the content of the meeting.

He needs 60 senate votes to pass a law. The Republicans only have 51 seats. So no, it doesn't work like that.

I don't know what you saw, but Trump owned this.

But of course it's all smoke & mirrors; meaningless theater.

    It wasn't meaningless at all.

But I get how trumpians always defend or dismiss trump's impulsive missteps. He's losing his 'reality tv" chops bigly.

    Completely meaningless.

Not a Trumpian, and no misstep, of course: yuuuuuuuuuuuge win for the Orange Pig. Quite the opposite.

Schumer was like a petulant child refusing to make eye contact and grinning an arrogant little smirk, half the time.
Pelousy sounded like a broken record who kept trying to interrupt.

Your dear leaders wanted this behind closed doors and you speak of transparency? That's an odd stance.

They SHOULD have done this charade behind closed doors.......... and saved a lot of folks a great deal of embarrassment. They did it in public to be "transparent". If this is the quality of their dialogue , who needs to see/ hear it??

Except you're wrong. By failing to properly fund the necessary border wall, this is 110% the dems fault. But they need the illegal votes, so they do everything in their power to let it happen. (And before you hit me up with the bullshit that "illegal votes aren't happening", that's no different than saying "underage people aren't buying booze at the liquor store at 2nd and Main" when we know that particular store doesn't card anyone.)

Why? They represent us, we cut the paycheck and this issue effects OUR lives. Want closed doors? Talk about your personal affairs.

How many times did they whine about having to conduct the peoples business on National TV? I think I counted 5.

The meeting will directly effect us but those two snakes very much resented having to be accountable on film. Transparency my lilly white ass!

I've lived through a number of "government shutdowns", and if it weren't for the news telling me that it was happening, I would not have noticed. Maybe we should "shut down" the "government" permanently.

You think that makes him the first politician who made promises who they couldn't, or wouldn't keep? I would HAPPILY write a check, TOMORROW, for "my share" of The Wall, as defined by the total cost divided by the adult population. In my specific case, that would be way more than our commie "progressive taxation" would imply (because I'm disabled and make $0/year), but I can swing it. Are you willing to pay your fair share?

    Exactly.

Anytime that Donald Trump is involved, any sort of "intellectual discourse" is non-existent.

Seriously, a Punch and Judy Show (featuring a cast of Mental Midgets) would have more "intellectual depth" than any conversation involving that CLUELESS ORANGE IMBECILE.

    Donald Trump? :roflol:
