You didn't watch the whole interview, did you? He said he could get the votes in the House without Nancy's help, hence he didn't need Nancy in negotiations.
Their goal is to make America a sanctuary country and if Hillary had won that's what they would be trying to pass right now.
I think it was obvious from the jump he's never cared about that. I don't find that much of a good thing really.
I hope he does too. He put himself in an untenable poltiical situation, and now owns any government shutdown. That Trump is an idiot when it comes to politics and negotiating is beyond obvious at this point. Schumer and Pelosi gave him several off ramps, and the idiot blustered on. Half of what he said on immigration wasn't true at all, and the fact checkers wasted no time on that. The wall has the support of the shrinking minority in Fox Noise world, and that's about it. But Trump said those golden words on live TV, "I'm proud to shut the government down". He will hear that played back for two years. And if there is a shutdown, Trump will own 100% of it. The GOP now has no incentive whatsoever to back him up.
The last government shutdown was stupid and nobody cared. The fact that democrats are willing to shut down the government to protect their open borders policies Says it all. Democrats care more about foreigners than they do Americans and they even make threads on this forum about how illegal immigration lowers the crime rate because they are better people than Americans here.
A president being blase about triggering impeachment, and the issues that causes, is not a good thing.
These are the same folks that bought his BS story of sending private investigators to Hawaii to get information on Obama's birth certificate.... Trump: My investigators in Hawaii can’t believe what they are finding
I don't recall Trump saying anything remotely similar to that in his campaign. He said "We are going to build a wall and Mexico is going to pay for it!" and now you want US to pay for it in the vague hope that we will collect the reimbursement in unpaid remittances? If that's the case, I have a bridge to sell you. Maybe you can get Mexico to pay for that too?
We have all noticed something very different about the way Trump talks vs. the way all other presidents have talked. Here is a linguist's perspective on it. He nails it.
And Pelosi called his bluff. If he can get the votes in the house, then he should do it. But he can't because he doesn't.
Here's what you missed in that. If you listened closely you would hear Nancy and Chuck saying they should argue in private to arrive at the essential facts and agree on the facts, and THEN take the debate public. Quarreling in public over the facts of what actually happened doesn't benefit the public; it undermines confidence in government, and any adult-like and intelligent politician would see the inescapable validity in settling the facts, and agreeing on facts, privately.... For example, how much wall was built since January 2017? How much would it cost per mile to build a wall of a particular construction? How many terrorists were caught trying to enter the US across the Mexico border since some particular date? When there is a broad and wildly varying difference in opinions on these and several other questions, "debate" breaks down into fights and accusations that help no one. In a private meeting these questions can be listed and the meeting adjourned to allow research into the answers. When answers are obtained and agreed upon, public debate on the facts can begin. Pelosi's and Schumer's suggestion of taking this part of the discussion private was an attempt to help Trump save face so he doesn't look like the total brain-dead moron that he is with his constantly changing "facts".
Trump is the one boasting about shutting down the government. You Trumsters can play your little game of trying to blame it on Democrats, but the only people buying that bougois are the folks who think PJ Media and Breitbart are "news".
Well, he has 22 days (counting weekends and Christmas) to get that done, cause after January 2nd, he ain't getting **** from anybody who's not in his pocket... If he didn't need Nancy in negotiations, why was she there? Cause she's not a 10, or even a strong 8...
I'm pretty sure if he can get the 10 senators, the rest will fall into place. You do know what divide and conquer is right? The video is an attempt at that. Whether it will be successful or not remains to be seen, but it certainly took Nancy by surprise, which I found to be hilarious, personally.
I'm still waiting to hear democrats tell me what their solution to border security is. I know they want amnesty sanctuary country and open borders. I've never heard one talk about border security. Their hero and presidential candidate beto wants to tear down the fences we have. Their hero Gavin newsome also wants to provide illegal immigrants with health care paid for by the American people. If you told me democrats were pro border security and I believed you I would be totally stupid.
Trump is standing up for his campaign promise. If Obama had any balls he would have done the same to keep his promise to close Gitmo.
First of all, I'm an Independent. Secondly there's no imagining going on. Trump said Mexico would pay for the wall. If I said to you I'm taking you out for dinner and I was going to pay, how would you feel if the check came and I asked you to get out your credit card because I had some vague half baked promise to pay you back in drips and drabs using a variety of different means over an unspecified amount of time? If you want to imagine anything, imagine that!
Here is real data: https://news.gallup.com/poll/235775/americans-oppose-border-walls-favor-dealing-daca.aspx And no the DACA is not a compromise. Two entirely separate issues. Trump has just been holding the DACA kids hostages in oreder to try and get funding for his stupid fence. Trump is the one that shot down the bipartisan compromise that would have solved DACA while providing money tor better border security.
Watching the democrats argue for illegal immigration on TV is a winning move for trump. They are willing to shut down the government to insurers our border remains unsecured.
