Focusing on Mexico paying for the wall is dumb because the American people really don't care. We want a secure border. Globalist democrats want to tear down for border we have because they believe we need more slaves to run cotton gigs.

You must be dyslexic because I don't believe democrats are pro border security or pro American anything. If a globalist Democrat supports a policy it is probably not in the American people's best interests.

Next time in a Democrat tells you they are against drugs and crime in America remind them that democrats hate America and Americans and want to see them victimized and give criminals a pass.

As part of the Iran deal Obama decided to let Hezbollah victimize Americans. Democrats gave him a pass Because they hate Americans and think they deserve to be victimized.

 

Oh they do care because they kept shouting "Mexico" whenever he asked who was going to pay for the wall when he asked them at his campaign rallies.

I care because I think it's a stupid white elephant of an idea for which he's now trying to extract the money from my American pocket.

If he's so sure he can get Mexico to pay for the wall some way, somehow, down the line, why doesn't he pay for it himself out of his hugely rich pockets and collect the funds over the years, with interest, from our neighbors to the south?

 

Democrats will say anything to justify bringing in drug dealers.

Border security is what is important to Americans.

Democrats want an open border that allows anyone and everyone to come and go unchecked and unregulated and then they want to give them government benefits paid for by the American people.

I still have not heard from a Democrat how to secure the border. I have heard them say that they want to tear down the fences we have and give illegal immigrants government benefits.

 

I have not followed that story

It most clearly does not "totally solve the problem". I have trouble trusting a leader who is proposing a solution (big wall) to a complex problem (illegal immigration) based on dismissive, divisive and simplistic ideas that don't address known root causes, such as why are people leaving their country and is there something we can we do about it to prevent waves of people showing up at the border in the first place? (this won't be the last time we face this issue) How can we craft an efficient, fair and cost effective legal mechanism for handling requests to enter the country? How can we discourage the employers who create an attractive lifestyle by illegally hiring undocumented workers who then do not contribute to the infrastructure they are using (roads, health, welfare, etc)? Is there a more cost effective way to detect, deter and prevent illegal crossings than an 1100 mile 30 foot tall concrete block? Why is it so hard to recruit border patrol agents? How can we address the border issue without either dehumanizing immigrants ("rapists, murderers and disease carriers") nor underestimating the cost of supporting them (a truly open border would now be a disaster)? Is there a way to legally employ and collect taxes from a large number of able bodied people willing to work hard at jobs that are often not attractive to the local population? How can we screen applicants faster and more effectively so the very small percentage of actually bad people are detected and blocked from entering the country?

I haven't observed concrete to have any of these properties.

How can we engage our citizenry to skip the tantalizing sound bites in favor of supporting people working together on problem solving? How can we get our elected representatives to stop posturing, name calling, maneuvering and bickering like a reality TV show and instead 'roll up their sleeves' and do the job we are paying them to do, which is the admittedly hard work to figure out some broad spectrum solutions that address the actual root causes of the problem?

 

The fact that Mexico ain't going to pay is not important at all.

The fact that Trump used it to get the peoples' focus on border security against the will of the MSM and the against John Kerry and the open border crowd is very exceedingly important.

I don't believe it is time and I'm willing to bet that even a sizable number of his supporters (whom he cannot afford to lose) will also care in the unlikely event of the wall ever getting built on their dime while they contend with the fact that their jobs have not come back and everything they buy is getting more expensive because of his trade tariffs?
