Well Twitter showed the reality with the leftness and their pundits being mocked non stop over it.

Even better was the Demos showing the entire country they were quite worried about having to debate in front of the Press.

They were to worried about showing their deviate Slim Shady ways.

No - I think lefties are well aware how many people wanted the wall. What we are astounded by is why his failed promise of the payment for it is going unchecked. Righties are fiscally conservative, aren't they? Why is it, then, that they seem quite happy to be paying for something that they were told would not be added to their bill?

If there is a shut down (and the odds of that have gone way up), it will be sad to watch the pathetic excuses and rationalizations the Trumpsters offer for it (although we've already heard most of them).

The Democratic had got a lot stronger yesterday afternoon, when the fool announced that he'd be proud to shut the government down over his wall.

The GOP leadership doesn't have to go along with that, since they were never briefed or enrolled in this "strategy"/

Of course, there is no strategy.

After Trump ignored the many off ramps Schumer and Pelosi offered him, they finally sat back and watched Trump make a fool of himself, and Schumer delivered the coup de grace by baiting Trump into saying the magic shutdown words on television.

Agree to a point. If Trump cannot/will not seek funding from Mexico he should deliver a plan of how he will seek it. But if the progress of the wall is such that it becomes a pipe dream the debate will be...how important is it to become reality? How can USA continue without it?

Like minded people on your Twitter (or Trump's) feed don't matter to much. Confirmation bias!

I am well aware of the incestuous nature of twitter based social networks. But thanks for the demonstration.

I see you fell for the "reality tv" production values - some debate. More like trump failing miserably with his bullshit and losing his cool to boot.

LIving in their trumpland echo chamber, I am not surprised that so many are oblivious to reality when confronted with it..

Probably because everyone realized there's no way Trump would get the Mexican government to officially actually pay for the wall, that his claiming he'd get this too was pure rhetoric. This is a recurring problem with the critical left, their insistence on always taking Trump literally. Maybe Trump can get the Mexicans to pay for the wall by taxing remittances, perhaps with tariffs or by requiring they compensate the US for the costs of deporting their citizens, maybe the wall costs could be extracted from Mexico over an extended period (I know building it will take a while). By my estimate the wall pays for itself in public assistance expenditures avoided by keeping illegals out.

So it is a recurring problem with the left - that they are taking campaign promises literally? You don't think that his base took it literally too? I understand the idea of keeping promises simple - but if he meant that Mexico would pay for it 'somehow', he should have said that. The reality is, in my estimation, that he meant it literally and overestimated his negotiation skills.

Uhhh, of course the right is supporting Trump on legal immigration and enforcement of immigration laws. Why wouldn't they? Several presidents have promised immigration reform and none have addressed the problem yet. It was a campaign promise so conservatives expect him to try to keep his campaign promise. The money saved that we pay out for benefits to illegal immigrants would far outweigh the cost of a wall.

No, that's not how the game is played. They had the good sense to suggest privacy for their donny brook. It's called airing your dirty linen in public. Smart people, who know the game, know better. Pelosi called Trump a liar in front of a national audience. Schumer just smiled and shook his head like he was through talking to a stupid child. Trump looked like a fool. You will never convince a Trumpite of that. Trump could urinate on an American flag held by a troop of girl scouts and the Trumpites would applaud it as a wash job. Learn the game or get off the table. BTW, the tape is the tape unless it's on FOX.

I've read the entire transcript. Have you?

What's pathetic is your long winded screeds trying to put lipstick on a pig.

    P & S were owned.

Your rants are all the same stuff over and over. Boring.

    LOL

No I did not support Trump, nor his Obamacare. You ought to know exactly why.

62,000 people were arrested on the Southwest Border in November. Over 2.5 million over the last 5 years.

How many illegal aliens do you think they are catching? Everyone that tries? They miss one for everyone they capture? Two get through for every one they catch? Three?

I'd be interested in seeing an answer to that question.

Right - "airing dirty laundry in public".

It was awesome to see Trump humiliate Pelosi with the "It's called transparency Nancy" line.

Your guys got owned big time.

And save your lame urinate BS for someone 50 years younger and in your bubble. I'm sure they drink it up every time you whip it out.

No one gets owned by trump. The last thing he can do is negotiate. He's going to be playing in a different ball park like he's never had to play in before and he's not capable. I especially enjoyed his talk about the terrorists (wasn't it 10) recently being captured. He took the opportunity to show the world what a f-ing liar he is.

I assure you, one thing appears certain, President Trump is very capable of playing on any field.

Why did P & S try to stop the discussion, if they were owning him like Progressives are being told by their media sources?

Wouldn't they want to keep their hammering going for as long as possible?

Funny how the hard core on the left can't come up with even a workable answer to that question.

I have no doubt the battle with Pelosi and the House will be epic in the coming two years. The picture of Pelosi stammering and stumbling in front of the camera searching her mind for complex words like "um", and "er" will be awesome.

in the age of the internet answers are at you finger tips. You can readily self satisfy your curiosity.

According to DHS its more like 1 in 5 are missed.

I am proud he made it transparent. It was obvious Pelosi and Shumer were uncomfortable with it. Probably because it wasn't he first time it has ever happened. If you call that lunacy you are a mindless sheeple.

Now most of the Public was better off not knowing what our gocvwernment was up to as what was the norm prior to C-span and the internet. And I actually think we were better off back then as our Presidents and Congress were free to do their business for the Country without 24 Hour news mediai in their face. As this meeting showed, behaviour changes when "all are watching".

The dems and the repubs have had many times when they could have provided legislation for immigration; neither did so. Mseems to me it is nothing but a political talking point. Except when it comes to President Trump.

Actually I knew what DHS claims.

Here is the key statement which I've highlighted since it's ramifications may be escaping you.

This measure reports the percent of detected illegal entrants who were apprehended or turned back after illegally entering the United States between the ports of entry on the Southwest border.

So roughly 79% of the people they SEE, are apprehended. Using that number, over the last 5 years, roughly 625,000 people they SEE, were able to avoid capture.

How many people do you think they don't see?

Depending on whose report you want to consider, the number of illegal aliens apprehended, versus successfully enter is 1 to 1, or 1 to 2.
