Should hunting purely for sport be considered poaching?

    It's also often very important to cull a herd that is too big to stop mass starvation and a weakening of a species. I agree on pure sport hunting of most animals and I grew up hunting deer, pheasant, duck, dove, quail, etc... most game birds.

    I don't know where you live but in my state it is illegal to kill ravens; doing so would be poaching. Ravens do pose some danger to livestock but before killing them a person would have to be given special permission from the state game and fish department. There are many legitimate reasons for killing animals in addition to food or livestock protection.

    Not sure what the big deal is about ravens. They are hardly endangered, and in fact, are bordering on overpopulation.

    In the U.S., they've had a 166% increase in the last 40 years or so. (27% increase a decade).

    Ravens should probably be exterminated. They are endangering other birds and wildlife. See above post.
