No, Trump's offensive term merits such a distinction.

Republicans, throughout their two years of Congressional control, assigned low priority to Trump's "big, beautiful wall!" that he repeatedly promised Mexico would pay for.

Given that most Americans still do not want it, that popular mandate still pertains.

That child is better off when mom earns the money instead of growing up as a welfare baby

    Strongest hand? Why?

A majority of Americans blame Trump for the shutdown, do not support the shutdown, and do not support the wall. He is actively punishing millions of American citizens by holding the federal government hostage. His speech offered zero new ideas on the shutdown and told several lies and misrepresentations. Several Republicans are now actively calling for the government to re-open without a deal over the wall. And Democrats have not budged at all.

Trump's best of the worst options at this point would be to declare a national emergency, get sued, have the wall held up by the courts for a year or further, get struck down by the courts (or massively expand executive authority such that future Democratic presidents can declare things like gun violence or access to healthcare a national emergency), just so he can tell his base of Trumpettes that he fought for them. All so that he can use that "fight" as a justification for fundraising and to further send more of their money into his own privately held companies.

Only unofficial polls claim that most Americans oppose the wall

In any case we are not a direct democracy to be ruled over by lying lib pollsters

Uh, the separation of families. And, no, it wasn't an "Obama policy".

"You think his rhetoric is accurate? Blaming Democrats, terrorists streaming in, security crisis,"

As a supposed Republican, Trump naturally minimizes the Republican's part of the blame that they share with the Democrats.

Obviously, the risk of terrorists entering is a danger.

However it may be qualified, it is a crisis.

"identify with those out of work?"

Unclear, to me, what you mean to be saying.

that's just banter, a normal everyday conversational tool used by millions of americans, iow everyday language for non-elitists and those of us that aren't hell bent on being the 'grammar gestapo squad' ... the man has not made a formal 'declaration' of any emergency, when & if he does we can discuss it, until then it's just twisty talk for agenda's sake ;)

    ...what's an "official poll?"

How about the 2018 midterms? Is that an official poll? You know, the one where Democrats picked up 40 seats in the House - the biggest gain since Watergate and by the single biggest popular vote margin in US history? When they ran on a platform that explicitly rejected the wall? Or how about the fact that every single Congressman whose territory includes the southern border were successfully elected in 2018 and they all oppose the wall?

That "official poll" also shows that Trump has the weakest hand.

Right...and when Trump said "former presidents told me that they support me on the wall," that was just banter, normal everyday conversational tools that actually referenced "certain clips of former presidents talking on television were examples of them talking to me."

You posted it, and deliberately misspelled it to evade the autocensors.

In Maryland, MS-13 gang members who arrived in the United States as unaccompanied minors were arrested and charged last year after viciously stabbing and beating a 16-year-old girl.

Over the last several years, I’ve met with dozens of families whose loved ones were stolen by illegal immigration. I’ve held the hands of the weeping mothers and embraced the grief-stricken fathers. So sad. So terrible. I will never forget the pain in their eyes, the tremble in their voices, and the sadness gripping their souls.

How much more American blood must we shed before Congress does its job?
    ~PDJT

It's time for Open Borders Democrats to put their petty politics aside and come together for the American People. Secure our Border and Reopen our Government. Enough 16 year girls have been brutalized by the Democrats Open Borders Gang Members. End your madness Democrats. Negotiate in Good Faith with America's President. Reopen the Government and Secure the Border.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/08/us/politics/donald-trump-speech.html

[snip] Yet privately, Mr. Trump dismissed his own new strategy as pointless. In an off-the-record lunch with television anchors hours before the address, he made clear in blunt terms that he was not inclined to give the speech or go to Texas, but was talked into it by advisers, according to two people briefed on the discussion who asked not to be identified sharing details.

“It’s not going to change a damn thing, but I’m still doing it,” Mr. Trump said of the border visit, according to one of the people, who was in the room. The trip was merely a photo opportunity, he said. “But,” he added, gesturing at his communications aides Bill Shine, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kellyanne Conway, “these people behind you say it’s worth it.”[end]

    Strawman.

Such circumstances do not exist, except for the possible, international deprivations commited by despicable parents or guardians.

    I dont know

Some might decide not to come if there were no jobs

But that would take time for word to filter down to the jungles of central America

So the shoeless migrant invasion would continue for some time

Drug smugglers and human traffickers would not be deterred, nor would ms-13 gang members

Still side stepping the question. What should be done to employers who break the law and hire illegals. Simple question. Most drugs are not brought in by illegals.
