And they receive assistance with what they SHOULD eat... but if they have cash of their own, since many aren't solely relying on EBT to eat, there is nothing that stops them from buying all the stuff they shouldn't buy, with their own cash. Actually, you can. Several different ways.
Buy groceries for a friend, friend pays you back in cash.
Directly sell the groceries you get to the public.

LOL, I spent a few years as a cashier in my life and that it NOT what they buy. They buy junk food and more importantly they buy their food with the EBT card then they proceed to buy booze and/or cigarettes with cash or another card. If you have enough money for booze and cigarettes then you don't need EBT to begin with. When I was in Milwaukee people would stand outside Aldi's and "rent" their card for 50 cents on the dollar or less meaning if they had $50 dollars left on their card you could use it for $25. This was quite common in Milwaukee.

 

But that person doesn't care about the food. That person is like my cousin who figures ways to get cash so he has money for beer, cigarettes, and dog food.

You did it again. The DP has sent the bills over to reopen the government. The bills are already passed and waiting for second confirmation. The Senate just needs to take the same vote it did earlier this month. So why is the Republican Senate keeping the government shut down ?Well ask the President of the same party who is taking full responsibility. Dems are not in control over what happens after they pass the bills.
