The 10s of thousands of illegal aliens massing on or traveling to our southern border say that logic is on trumps side

Let me ask you this. Do you really believe that? Because if anything, the behavior leading Lindsey to reach that conclusion has only gotten worse.

If you're anti-Trump, you're against the wall. Pro-Trump, you're for it. I got that. They're are cheaper, more efficient and effective ways to deal with illegal aliens. But time and history has proven there is no will to do so.

"Washington (CNN)Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked a move by Senate Democrats on Thursday to get the chamber to vote on spending bills to reopen the government on day 20 of the ongoing partial shutdown.

"In a back-and-forth on the Senate floor, Senate Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, on Thursday called for the Senate to take up legislation advanced by House Democrats to reopen shuttered parts of the federal government and argued that parts of the federal government not related to the border wall should be re-opened immediately as negotiations continue over the border wall, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell objected to the move, saying that "political stunts are not going to get us anywhere."

So, according to Trump's lackey in the Senate, McConnell, reopening the government is a political stunt. The truth is, he will not allow a vote in the Senate because he knows it will pass, forcing his hero to veto the measure. The bill is the same one the Senate passed on Dec. 19 with his blessing.

"Of course not. Remember me? I am the guy that gets us out of shutdowns," McConnell told CNN in an exclusive interview in August, 2014.

"It's a failed policy," he said of shutdowns.

I have provided a number of posts regarding the government shutdown. They point to Trump's lies and misconceptions, and they show who is responsible for the continued shutdown, Trump and McConnell.

I get replies like the ones shown above, if I get a reply at all from Trump's fans. Once again, they avoid reality and provide meaningless quips.

No. Being a criminal does NOT make you a terrorist.

"Terrorist" has a definition, and that MS-13 doesn't fit within that definition.

Reads my lips.......I DON'T CARE. I want the 25% shutdown to become permanent. The savings of $1.75 million of the approx. $7 million the government spends per minute would save us a boat load of money, about $2.5 Billion a day. The debt will taxpayers and debt will thank Trump.

My point being, Trump's fans chose not to deal with my recent posts. That may not be a bad thing. Perhaps they are learning something. Things are not as simple as they portray.

Mostly, though, they like to change the subject. Recently, we received a dissertation on MS-13, as if that had something to do with Trump's wall.

Ho-hum, today Trump threatened to declare a national emergency again. How many times is that now? Ten, twelve times, I have lost count.

Trump says he has the "absolute right" to declare a national emergency. As usual, he misses the point. He has the right, but is there a national emergency to declare? That is the issue, not his authority to declare a national emergency.

What is this crisis Trump is talking about? Trump answered the question Tuesday evening when he spoke to the American people. “This is a humanitarian crisis — a crisis of the heart and a crisis of the soul,” Trump said in his nine-minute speech from the Oval Office. “Democrats in Congress have refused to acknowledge the crisis, and they have refused to provide our brave border agents with the tools they desperately need to protect our families and our nation.”

Trump was unclear how a humanitarian crisis threatens "our families and our nation." He reported a number of crimes committed by illegal immigrants, but they are a part of the 12 million illegal immigrants already in this country. His wall would not prevent the crimes he described.

That said, Trump told us this was an humanitarian crisis and he described how that crisis happened south of the border in Mexico and Central America, not in the U.S.

Trump was also unclear how his wall would help in a humanitarian crisis. Ordinarily, a humanitarian crisis is solved with money, food, shelter, clothing, and medical care, not a wall.

Trump remains very confused about his wall. He talks about a myriad of problems that have little to do with a border wall.

Isn't he the sort of person who should be studied closely to determine whether he should be allowed to own a gun? I mean with his condition and all?

Who said...."If there’s a concrete wall in front of you, go through it. Go over it. Go around it. But get to the other side of the wall."

Trump continues to make a complete fool of himself over his wall. Why does he do that to himself? Is he really that stupid?

"I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great great wall on our southern border and I’ll have Mexico pay for that wall."

Source: Donald Trump’s Presidential announcement speech

That promise was repeated 200 times during the election campaign. Surprisingly, his gullible base believed him.

Trump claimed today that he “obviously never meant Mexico would” pay for the wall.

He said he didn't expect Mexico write write a check for the wall. That is a lie as well. Trump's campaign team issued a memo in 2016 that stated, “It’s an easy decision for Mexico: make a one-time payment of $5-10 billion to ensure that $24 billion [in remittances] continues to flow into their country year after year. We have the leverage, so Mexico will back down.”

Trump confuses himself with his many lies.
Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.

"I have the absolute right to declare a national emergency,” Trump told reporters outside the White House on Thursday. “The lawyers have so advised me. I'm not prepared to do that yet, but if I have to, I will. I have no doubt about it. I will."

There is no question Trump has the "right" to declare a national emergency. The issue is, is there a national emergency? If there is, what exactly is it? Also, notice the change in terminology. When all this began, Trump referred to the problem at our border as national security crisis. That has pretty much been debunked, so he changed it to a "national emergency," which can mean anything from forest fires to flooding to damage caused by a hurricane.

Is there a "national emergency" at our border? Trump visited the border today at McAllen, TX. It was pretty quiet. Nothing much happening. What exactly is the emergency? Trump himself called the problem a "humanitarian crisis" when he spoke to the nation Tuesday evening. A border wall is a very curious solution to a humanitarian crisis.

But there is a much bigger question. If Trump actually declares a national emergency and he uses funds meant for military use to build his wall, then what?

There is no doubt that his order will be challenged in the courts. How long will it take for the judicial process to play out? Will our government remained shuttered until Trump gets his money, if he gets his money? Or, will Trump use this as an excuse for backing down and allowing our government to function again?

If Trump declares a national emergency, bypassing Congress for funding and oversight, what if he wins the court battle? The answer to that question places our form of government at risk, which is exactly why Trump wanted to be President and why his base voted for him. Now he get his opportunity and Putin will be waiting for the results.

If the President wins the court battle, that would mean anytime he doesn't get his way, he can declare a national emergency and get whatever he wants. Is this what Republicans want Trump to do? What if he declares a national emergency, and cancels the 2020 election? If Trump wins this battle, do Republicans think there will never be a Democratic President?

Actually, if Trump wins this battle, that becomes a very real possibility. All a Republican President has to do is declare a national emergency.

    Is this what McConnell wants?
