I am always amused by those that never served their country for a day talk about toughness and willingness to fight for what is right

 

Which is you, a person who claimed to serve and by your own words where proved to be lying.

All right; let's say you're telling the truth. I have to admit, my own experiences as a law enforcement officer have indeed exposed me to some officers who, like you, claim that only a cop could make the proper decisions regarding a deadly force situation, despite the reality that too many cops have a demonstrated track record of failure in such situations.

Ironically, such officers who demonstrate such arrogance inevitably tend to be those who disdain practice, whine about supplemental training, and consistently need multiple attempts to shoot even minimum passing scores during qualification. Yet somehow they are happy to propagate the erroneous public perception that cops such as themselves are all highly trained shootists and ever so much smarter and wiser than the lowly civilians they police.

When we speak of the crisis of a mass shooting, especially in a school, thinking a teacher has to have the same multi-faceted training as a law-enforcement officer to effectively protect their charges is ludicrous in the extreme. The primary focus is discipline, skill, speed, and precision. If a school is on lockdown, and the teacher has properly positioned her students and secured the door, then if a gunman attempts to force the door the decision that has to be made is a simple one and all that is required is the skill to terminate the threat.

 

why do you post stuff that you know or should know is crap. most of the stuff cops learn DOES NOT INVOLVE gun fighting in a civilian environment. Few cops ever get into a gun fight. You keep braying that private citizens don't have the training cops have. That is true-when it comes to being a cop. It is A COMPLETE FALSEHOOD when it comes to defensive shooting. I have well over 300 hours of professional live fire training in everything from house clearing to automatic weapons use. and I have over half a million rounds of training or competition-often involving shoot-no shoot stuff.

 

Vegas doesn't claim to be a cop. He has claimed-in the past-to being former military., current military, and mental health professional, gun expert etc.

 

A teacher with access to a gun will have access to the gun for wide variety of situations. Yiu can tell them not to use it but anytime they feel in danger they can access it. That requires a cool head and an ability to make decisions under stress. That is what field training is for

What has serving ‘their country’ have to do with being being tough and ‘fighting for what is right’? Then as well, is the only criteria under service of country, serving the US?
As for you having been in more fights than I can imagine, do share.
