I will be fair, I no more think all white republicans are racists against blacks because some are racists against blacks

then I think all black democrats are racist against whites because some are racist against whites

it's really sad though when our leaders (of either side) are the ones that show they are racist, we should all be condemning it

Like them or not and most don't, the Black Panthers are part of America's history.

Last November a mural in Los Angeles was vandalized where someone painted sawazikas over the faces of Black Panthers.

It was labeled a hate crime.

But as one black girl pointed out, the Black Panthers are part of our history and defacing the mural is no different than the left wing Taliban arm of the Democratic party tactics of toppling Confederate war memorials.

The South left because of slavery. Don't sugarcoat it. The confederate flag is the symbol of a group of states who tried to leave the Union so they could own other people. The confederate flag should NEVER have been flown ANYWHERE in this country after that disastrous war. The fact that it was is shameful.

The South has just recently begun to address this, with the removal of confederate statues and and prominent displays of the flag. The South has always lagged behind the rest of the country when it comes to morality. Always.

Right, I didn't think so. And, the only difference really between a hammer and sickle and confederate flag is that only one of them symbolizes racism and something that almost destroyed this country. So, I suppose a hammer ans sickle would be patriotic if communism almost destroyed us huh?

Let's talk about confederate statues, should we really be commemorating traitors to and enemies of this country? Should we be building statues of john walker lindh?

 

No it's not. I'm a white male. I have it incredibly easy in this country. My minority friends do not. I have personally witnessed countless instances of racism and harassment by the cops that I never have had to deal with. Don't even try to pretend systemic racism doesn't exist in this country.

 

He posted a response in order to give it some context, although it isn't all that impressive. He "makes clear" that he rejects White Nationalism and White Supremacy as evil ideologies but neither apologizes for questioning why the terms are offensive nor explains why he would question the offensiveness of terms he later states as being indicative of evil ideologies.

I had thought it was going to be within the context of how our society is currently comfortable with minority organizations but can't seem to tolerate White organizations. I could've support that context, but he went with some rambling contradictory comment instead.

 

For a long time, the racists identified with Democrats. LBJ was a godawful president when it came to Vietnam, but he rammed through the Civil Rights Act, and the racists went to the Republican party.

In the spirit of "fairness", there is a strain of anti-semitism that still runs though the Democrat party.

You don't seem to understand the difference between a monument that commemorates someone who did something FOR the country and monuments to people who fought AGAINST the country. I have no problem with any monuments celebrating Lee's service during the Mexican-American war.

 

agree, this "white privilege" nonsense has just become a way for racist blacks to attack whites - it may of in the beginning had valid arguments, but now it's being used for racial attacks by racists

it's like the "black privilege" being applied to ALL blacks saying they are all affirmative actions peoples - that puts down all blacks - saying they are not responsible for their own accomplishments

blacks may of been proud to get an affirmative action job in the past, but now to work hard and get a job and then be told your an affirmative action hire is an insult... same with the "white privilege" insults

The Republican party is a cult now. The Never-Trumpers left when they realized what Trump was about. What's left is about a third of the country that is fearful of the demographic changes and angry over their economic situation. Desperate people are easy marks when it comes to con men. People are loathe to admit they were had, so Trump routinely gets away with things that would have brought down other presidents, Republican or Democrat.

Just as one example, can you imagine George W Bush siding with Putin against our own FBI? He would have been forced to resign.
