Recently it made the news that Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Ginsburg, could not attend the Supreme Court's scheduled oral arguments this month, and now it is announced that she will not be able to attend a speaking event in New York City in February.

Surely NONE of us wishes this lady anything but good health for as long as possible. Yes, she's quite liberal, but that is not what is of the greatest importance right now. She's 85 years old, and we can only hope that if her health appears to be as impacted as we've seen it recently that her medical advisers would suggest to her on that basis that the time has come to retire!

Nobody wants to "die at the office", and it shouldn't have to happen to Justice Ginsburg, either.... At the ripe, old age of 85, surely she's richly earned her RETIREMENT!

Having gone through heart surgery when I was 44 I can tell you that I never fully regained me strength and stamina. Knowing that, I can only imagine what surgery would do to an 85 year old along with what ever physical toll her cancer may have taken on her.

Good luck RBG, but get out and enjoy life while you still can.

Trump earned his place in the White House. So what are you saying, she'll never age, or become physically or mentally unable to do the job? I think the only thing keeping her going is hatred for Trump.

She will decide when she is ready.

I think what keeps her going is she loves her job

Um I have no problem wishing her ill health.

She has supported positions that have led to millions of deaths in my opinion so I have no sympathy for her whatsoever.

How long can we keep a corpse on the bench? Just saying. If you cant do that job, you just got to go. They'll keep her alive on machines if they have to past 2020, to insure Trump doesn't get another pick.

The question is what if she can no longer do the job and refuses to vacate the seat for political reasons?

Why won't the left let her enjoy the last few remaining months of her life in peace? She has earned a easy rest.

Someone incapable of doing the job should NOT have the choice of keeping that job when YOU and I are paying her salary. At some point, she has to be deemed unfit. What you are suggesting is quite screwed up. She doesn't have to leave her job unless she decides? What a wonderful world that is? And lets not ignore the fact that she is just too freaking old to make proper decisions anymore. When you can barely stay awake in public, you seriously are unfit to make rather important decisions effecting all of us.

You think its logical that someone can literally be on their deathbed for the next 2 years and miraculously "choose" to "retire" once a president is named....how convenient? That is the ultimate in corruption. True corruption of the highest magnitude, dwarfing a simple delay. What it actually reveals is how useless the court must be if a justice can be a part of it while on figurative life support. How important are they really if you can have a job but not actually do your job?

How about have the court be absent without a justice for a long time so you can wait till after the election to put your guy in. Oh please.

    Impeach her already. Just try.

    I could use the laugh

So how long should she be able to serve while lying partly comatose in a hospital bed? 1 year? 2 years? 5 years? Even if she does recover, you think she's still fit? Last time I checked the majority of people in that state at that age are handing over major decisions to their kids at this point. What value is her role when she doesn't even have to do it. Just admit you really don't care. Just admit you only want her there because you don't want Trump to have another pick. Just come clean and be truthful. Its OK. No one will judge you. But at least you can be honest.

Look the Republicans decided we didn't need a justice on the court for a long time. Why was that ok? Her mind is sharp and clear and her legal opinions sound. You guys played politics with the court and left a seat vacant for a long time. It was reprehensible and I have not heard you condemn it.

I offer you the opportunity to condemn it now
