    Well, to be precise it's from Gross Domestic Investment. These investments are what ensure productivity growth, the key to real long term GDP, and yes, its up very nicely under Trump;

They are adjusting to the Fed's swing from qualitative easing to qualitative tightening.

7 increases in two years was meant to have an impact, and it has.

Don't confuse Wall Street for Main Street. Stock Market capitalization as a percentage of GDP looks pricey to me, and if it looks pricey to you, you should be positioned defensively.
Actually, the Debt to GDP has gone down under Trump.
10 years ago. Trump's first 7 full quarters posted twice the growth rate of Obama's final 7 full quarters, which long after the recession ended.
Not under Trump, wages are finally out pacing inflation under Trump.
Democrats want to give a big tax break to the wealthy by removing the SALT cap.
    Hell yeah.
So did Government workers. Now its time for the American Workers to get a bigger slice of the pie.

Time for Democrats to work as hard for American Workers and they do for Illegals and Government Workers.
The Free-Loaders need to pay the 2% of GDP THAT THEY AGREED TO.
Not it hasn't. It sucks. It doesn't work. Our Constitutional system of individual freedom, liberty and a government kept in check is simply superior.
In order to "ensure fairness" government has to control everything. The more government controls, the more government serves government. That is why our system restrains government and keeps sovereignty in the Citizenry, not the Government. You get a small group in control of everything, that always ends in revolution. We are the longest surviving Democracy in the world (and one of the longest surviving governments in the world) because we have no reason to revolt. A revolution is about grabbing power, and in our system the we have the power, so there is no need to ever revolt.
We have a duty to diligent about breaking up monopolies. Very little of this has been done since AG Reno broke up Microsoft, and there is much work to be done. Hopefully AG Barr will be the man to get it done.
She's an ignorant know it all.
Just hand her a microphone and shut up. She does all the work needed to humiliate herself.
We are a strong, resilient, hard working, and generous Nation, it's always morning in America, forever the dawn of a bright new day!

And it's time they lived up to their commitments, thanking the American Taxpayer for the blood and treasure we have expended for their well-being.

Disagreeing With Conventional D.C. Wisdom Isn’t A Crime: Democrats keep confusing “policy disagreements” with “an attack on democracy.”

To be fair, they only regard it as democracy when they get their way.

THAT GOES WELL WITH THE FACT THAT THE MEANS TO ACCOMPLISH IT ARE A TECHNOLOGICAL FANTASY:

What a silly, subjective pile of twaddle your post is. My rather more factual retort is that if you don't like the way your "bosses" are treating you, you are always free to QUIT and find another job, or start your own company.

Moreover, although your observation is correct that Trump (being a billionaire, and everything) is a man "oozing wealth", but you know NOTHING about whether the man is "incapable of love or compassion". What a lot of subjectively fanciful, speculative bullshit!

I actually don't care for the man personally, and I do disagree fundamentally with the specifics he outlined in his Executive Order concerning 'the Wall'. All that notwithstanding, it would appear to even the most casual observer that he does, indeed, in his own way, love the United States of America! Can as much be said for radical, wanna-be socialists as Ocasio-Cortez, Beto O'Rourke, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, 'Dizzy-Lizzy' Warren, et al...?

BTW, did you ever decide what it is that you 'think' about the way we are TAXED in this country? THAT, sir, is what matters! You always earn what you are WORTH in a free-market economy, but the way you are TAXED...? Taxation in the U. S. is what is so obviously, and horribly unfair -- not how much a person is WORTH! What a person is WORTH in the workplace is determined only by that person and his/her education, experience, and ability....

    Uhh...

That's not how they see this working out.

GLOBAL TEMPERATURES: WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING?
Liberals wax hysterical about global warming, mostly because it provides an opportunity for graft: politically connected businessmen make billions by manufacturing and selling wind and solar products that exist only because of government mandates and subsidies. These corrupt businessmen, in turn, donate many millions to the campaigns of politicians who vote for mandates and subsidies, who are mostly (but not entirely) Democrats.

The other big thing that hyperlibs go nuts over is the dreaded Carbon Dioxide.

Fact: Carbon Dioxide is an organic molecule without which life as we know it could not even EXIST on this planet.
Fact: Carbon Dioxide makes up approximately 0.04% of the Earth's atmosphere!

[IMG]So, we need another "Solyndra"?! :spin:

It's all right out of "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky -- manufacture a 'reality', market it as fact, and take political power. From there they can do exactly as we saw ex-prez "Messiah" Obama do -- piss away hundreds of millions of dollars to corrupt, hyperliberal scam-artists who say they are going to "save the planet" through companies like Solyndra!

    1. Several European members of NATO are already doing just that, and I suspect others will follow. Have patience.
    2. I'm a Democrat, and I fully support your statement that "disagreeing with conventional DC wisdom isn't a crime." It's actually a powerful expression of our individual freedom, which I strongly endorse. I don't agree that "policy disagreements" are equivalent to "an attack on democracy." I feel "policy disagreements" are natural, not only between opposing parties, but even within the ranks of a single party. I think you're wrong on that statement.
    3. There's nothing "fair" or accurate about statement here. Today, it's Trump and his supporters who are the living examples of your post. It wasn't the Democrats who shut down the government & put 800,000 federal workers out of work. The Democrats & Republicans unanimously passed an appropriations bill on a bi-partisan basis in December, funding the government entirely. Trump vetoed that bill, forcing this government shutdown. He publicly bragged about his bravado for doing so. For Trump, forcing 800,000 dedicated American government workers to live without income for as long as it takes for him (Trump) to get his way, is his idea of being a great leader. But I think it's a national disgrace that our President, 1) has so little empathy for the suffering he's caused, and 2) has so little confidence in, knowledge of, or concern for the government he took an oath to preserve, protect & defend. He does none of those in reality, and seems stuck on his frequent statement from the 2016 campaign: "Only I can do it." Those are the words of a man incapable and unwilling to work with others for the good of something outside of himself. Those are the words of a wanna-be dictator--and one who envisions himself as precisely that. It's NOT something one would expect to hear, or want to hear, from a leader who respects democracy. Based on the immense and growing pile of evidence, Trump detests democracy; is insanely confident in his own ability and infallibility; does NOT work well with others; and represents the single greatest threat to American democracy of anything on the horizon today.

    1. Starting companies generally requires a substantial amount of up-front investment money, that most Americans don't have. It's easy to be judgmental and find fault with those who live with less than their dreams due to an inability to afford the change they want. But most Americans literally can't afford to start their own business. Also, many people don't regard a lifetime of focusing on accumulating wealth as the best way to spend their lives. Creativity takes many forms and finds many points of focus. All can be worthwhile. Business in only one of them.
    2. No man who can casually order the separation of infants & children from their parents over a simple misdemeanor, and make no plans to keep the necessary records required for reunification later, can be said to enjoy the gifts of empathy or compassion. No man who intentionally forces 800,000 fellow Americans off their jobs without pay, as a ploy to win a political battle with no connection to that abusive act other than the one he himself ascribed, is a man who failed to inherit the gene for empathy or compassion. You call my post "bullshit." But for me, it's indisputable proof that Trump is incapable of caring for anyone or anything outside of himself and what compliments that self. He is an extraordinarily selfish, self-serving & self-promoting man. He is NOT a man to be admired or voted for.
    3. The word "radical" can be applied to any idea or ideal rigidly held to by anyone. Trump & his supporters are just as "radical" in their views of America & what they should stand for as any of the democrats you mentioned here are in their liberal oriented views. I actually agree with the democrats you mention so disparagingly. Capitalism has done such a retched job of distributing wealth in our nation that we honestly need to massively alter capitalism here or try something "radically" different. Socialism would be a valid choice. Socialism gives us a path by which we can address the incredible gap in income between the haves & have-nots in our society, without destroying the fabric that binds our society together. I have joined Bernie Sanders, AOC, Beto O'Rourke, Kamala Harris, E. Warren, etc., because they are right. The status quo can't continue. It's not worthy of our continuing support. We need change. We need RADICAL change.
    4. I'm not an accountant, nor a person who spends a lot of time concentrating on money. I never have. Perhaps that accounts for my lack of it in my life, but I'm OK with that reality. Other interests took priority, and still do. I don't know much about taxes, except I do support proportional tax rates based on income. And, I don't support using sales taxes to a large extent because they hit lower income families harder than higher income ones in an unfair manner. I will also state my preference for my tax dollars to be used to help other Americans have better lives as individuals & families, rather than have my taxes go for building more bombs to kill more innocent people across the globe.

    Well, "several" aren't as well!

A $4.1B difference and Democrats would rather Shut Down the Government than even counter-offer to Trump's requested $5.7B? Very irresponsible.
And these are mainly their own constituents! But, they prefer illegals to government workers and figure that sacrificing Government Workers on their open borders alter is worth it.
    Fake News.

House Republicans passed a stop-gap spending bill on Thursday that delivers $5 billion for President Donald Trump’s border wall, setting up a standoff with the Senate that drastically raises the likelihood of a government shutdown this weekend.

By a 217-185 vote, House Republicans pushed through the measure, which extends the deadline for government funding until Feb. 8.

Democrats have vowed to reject any funding for the border wall. Government funding runs out at midnight Friday, meaning a partial government shutdown looks almost certain at this point.

    https://www.politico.com/story/2018/12/20/border-wall-funding-house-1070940

Democrats blocked this bill in The Senate and the government shut down. Trump vetoed nothing.
    Fake News, Never Happened.

    1. Yes, I agree. But they're being pressured to do better, and many will comply over time. But, what each country contributes to the cost of NATO doesn't work as a measure of the success of NATO, which has been remarkable. And peace is far less expensive than war. So, our investment in European peace is more than worth it.
    2. I believe the bills you're citing here were passed AFTER the one that passed unanimously by the Senate in December offering Trump 1.6 billion for the wall, and vetoed by Trumph causing the original shut down. After the veto, Republicans passed a second bill giving Trump the 5.7 billion, but Democrats could not support such waste, and didn't join the Republicans in the vote. There was no reason to shut down the government over this disagreement. The negotiations could have continued after the original bill had been signed by Trump keeping the government funded. But Trump chose to do a government shutdown to prove his toughness, and thus 800,000 Americans find themselves without a paycheck to sustain themselves & their families. This is Trump's shutdown. He bragged that he'd take credit for it on a video taped session in the White House. So, it's his. And he can end it whenever he wishes. Every day he delays, he's hurting more and more Americans, for the shutdown is affecting thousands of businesses that work with the government on many projects. It's a mess. But it's Trump's mess, and now partly McConnell's as well, for his refusal to act in accordance with his own Constitutional duties.

There is really nothing I can add to your post that does a better job of explaining who and what you are than you have done already. If earning a living has such a low priority for you and your faction, then there is nothing I can say to you to 'inspire' you. Luckily enough for those with your attitude, Socialism is on the ascendancy in this poor, confused country. Let all parasites rejoice!

By the way, there is a rather large difference between "retch" and 'wretched'. You'll figure it out, in your socialistic wretchedness... while you are contemplating your situation in about five years from now -- think: VENEZUELA.... :hippie:

Thanks for the spelling lesson. :) I know of your feelings toward Socialism & Democratic Socialism as well, but your example of Venezuela is ill-founded. Several Western European nations living under Democratic Socialism are very nice places to live indeed, and in some ways better than in the U.S. No country has a monopoly on having all the right answers--including us.

It had nothing to do with spelling... "retch" means to vomit in spasms.

"Wretched", by contrast, is defined as --

    wretched
    /ˈrɛtʃɪd/
    adjective
    1. (of a person) in a very unhappy or unfortunate state.
"I felt so wretched because I thought I might never see you again"
synonyms: miserable, unhappy, sad, broken-hearted, heartbroken, grief-stricken, grieving, sorrowful, sorrowing, mourning, anguished, distressed, desolate, devastated, despairing, inconsolable, disconsolate, downcast, down, downhearted, dejected, crestfallen, cheerless, depressed, melancholy, morose, gloomy, glum, mournful,
    More
    • of poor quality; very bad.
"the wretched conditions of the slums"
synonyms: harsh, hard, grim, stark, difficult; More

    • used to express anger or annoyance.
"she disliked the wretched man intensely"
synonyms: despicable, contemptible, beyond contempt, reprehensible, base, low, vile, mean, scurvy, abominable, loathsome, hateful, detestable, odious, disreputable, depraved, debased, infamous, villainous, ignoble, shameful, shabby, worthless
It's OK... you simply used the wrong word... spelling had nothing to do with it.... And you might find that this is also true of you idea of what a delightful place Venezuela is if you decide to go see a REAL "Socialist-Paradise" 'in-the-flesh'. Why not leave and go see it with your own two eyes tomorrow?! :applause:

If the cost is worth it to them they will pay it. There is no reason for the US Taxpayer to pay it for them.
The House passed the measure I described and the Democrats blocked it in the Senate, resulting in a shutdown. Trump vetoed nothing.

The Senate passed a bill to keep the government open for a few weeks, the House didn't pass it, Trump vetoed nothing. You started off this by saying "I think". Are you familiar with a search bar?
The Constitution does not ALLOW the government to remain fully open when Congress cannot agree on a bill to keep it funded, Silly!
The negotiations can continue now. First Democrats took off to Puerto Rico, and now they just all tried to take off on a junket to Europe, ensuring that the government would not be funded until they returned, but Trump grounded their plane and they were unable to leave DC.
6,000 Americans are MURDERED each year by illegals. You think missing a paycheck is bad, believe me, getting murdered is much worse. It's time for Open Borders Democrats to secure the Border and Reopen the Government.
The Constitutional ignorance of self-righteous "progressives" is amazing.

Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings
    ~ US Constitution

Senate rules give McConnell the authority to refuse to play Pelosi's dog and pony show of voting on bills Trump won't sign.

The Democrats are not negotiating with McConnell, they are supposed to be negotiating with Trump, but instead they just tried to escape on a junket to Europe. But, Trump stopped that by taking their plane away. Maybe now they are ready to secure the border and reopen the Federal Government.

I'm not saying NATO doesn't have value, just that our allies need to have the commitment of blood and treasure to securing their borders as we have, and that we should show the commitment to our borders that we have been showing to their's.

Your article makes a solid point:

-Some of these deficits reflect a[n] excessive thrift in service of welfare-state budgets

They need to pay their fair share, and thanks to Trump's efforts, more of them are, and shopping at US Defense Contractors.

    Forbes disagrees with NEWER statistics.
"The following infographic provides a breakdown of military spending across the alliance, with only five of them meeting the 2 percent goal: "

    From your own link:

Five NATO members are expected to meet the alliance’s 2 percent target for defense spending in 2015, according to data released on Monday.

Poland joins Britain, Estonia, Greece, and the United States as the only members of the 28-country alliance to meet the threshold.

In what world is 23 of 28 not MOST?

The fact that you keep throwing Venezuela back at me as your prime example of "socialism" is disturbing. I've responded to your example several times & made it clear I don't regard Venezuela as a "socialist" state, but rather a communist one. I get the impression you are selectively choosing to ignore my responses altogether in favor of your mind set. In which case, I'm wasting my time. :(
