I would like to agree with you but then we both would be completely misinformed. The only obstacle to Trump is a old stubborn crone who is in the pockets of Silicon Valley, who thrive on cheap labor over American labor. When they say Nancy is a money raising machine look no farther than the Googles of San Francisco. Your right , it isn't politics, it's corporate greed and corrupt politicians.

Nancy does not need to go to a war zone to get briefed on the military situation in country and I seriously doubt her appearance there does anything to boost troop morale. Don't recall her chastising Harry Reid when he long ago said "the war is lost, bring the troops home" and her lifted face with it's fake painted on Joker like smile will do nothing but get massive eye rolls and probably a few lost lunches from our troops.

Nothing to discuss? The stumbling block here is funding for additional border security barriers that agents on the ground along with chiefs of the border patrol past and present say are needed. How in the world can any rational mind say there's nothing to discuss? Oh yeah I forgot. TDS and rational thinking are mutually exclusive terms. Never mind.

Haven't you been following this at all? The stumbling block is NOT funding for additional border security barriers. Democrats have always put money in the bill for border security INCLUDING additional fencing or barriers. They put FIVE BILLION DOLLARS in the December bill for border security but they are absolutely unwilling to spend a penny for a pointless wall. American people want our government to spend money in a smart way and not on a fourth-century strategy.

They lose a little every time. It's a long process but there is time. And 42% will usually not make a President, especially one who polarizes people against him so. Some people do love Trump but most people I know HATE the man, and have come to hate him even more as time goes on.

You are woefully misinformed. Trump wants 5.7 billion for barriers including steel slated fences in locations where border agents say those would be superior to a solid structure. Democrats won't even bargain on that and those. They are completely intransigent on the issue saying not one dollar and then Nancy saying mockingly "fine, one dollar". They refue to negotiate.

No, he most certainly wants a wall, a real wall, a wall made of concrete. He hasn't reneged and agreed to steel slat fencing. He wants the same wall he has always said he would build, no substitutes. President-whisperer Ann Coulter warned him: You’re “dead, dead, dead” if you don’t build the border wall!". So, no.....Trump will have no part of any spending bill that doesn't give him 5.6 billion for his wall.

Call it a bologna sandwich if you want. Trump wants a wall, not steel, not concertina wire, not bollard style steel fencing, not wood, not canvas, not beads, he wants a CONCRETE wall.

Trump is speaking at this very moment insisting on a wall, not a fence, etc. but a wall. I will repeat what shadow-president Ann Coulter said two days ago. "You’re “dead, dead, dead” if you don’t build the border wall!". In December she tweeted that Trump was a "Gutless President in a Wall-Less Country!" Know what that means? She will not accept anything less than a concrete wall.

A border wall is nothing but a populist symbol. Every populist movement has symbols. One symbol common for all whether you're a redneck, a confederate, a white supremacist or a guy that just doesn't like illegals because of work-related reasons, nothing personal. All these groups have their own individual symbols. The wall is the symbol that works for all of them the confederate flag won't do it, Nazi symbols won't do it, but the wall works. This is why "leaders" of the alt-right want the wall, it would be quite a symbol for them to push the same idea to all these groups and every populist movement, under one avatar, one symbol. If if it were built, there would be a "one perfect pic"of the fraction of the wall would go on the news every day as a big story. It would be the thumbnail of every video mugs, shirts, rugs ( not for Muslim prayer rugs )curtains, stickers, etc. It would be like that Che Guevara picture or Castro. Green military hats and beards mean Communism everyone knows Nazi symbols mean white supremacy. The wall is nothing more than that to his combination of his base, it's a symbol.

Trump will make an announcement today, Any bets on what it will be? My bet is that he's going to declare that the United States is in state of national emergency

And again you are woefully mis and or uninformed.

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said Saturday that President Trump’s willingness to “take a concrete wall off the table” is proof of Trump’s “desire to try and resolve” the government shutdown.

Speaking during an interview on "Meet the Press" set to air Sunday, Mulvaney said that Trump has told Democrats he'd settle for a steel fence on the border instead of the concrete wall he's long described as his vision.

“That came up the other day in the private meeting with the ‘Big Eight’ as they call the leaders in the House and the Senate—Republicans, Democrats—that he was willing to agree, and he mentioned this again at the Rose Garden press conference, to take a concrete wall off the table,” Mulvaney said during an interview with “Meet the Press” set to air in full on Sunday."

If that's true then why did he refuse to sign the bill that was put in front of him in December, just 2 days before the shutdown? That bill had FIVE BILLION in it for border security.

Pure racism right there. The Congressional Budget Office indicates that between 50 percent and 75 percent of unauthorized immigrants pay federal, state, and local taxes. Illegal immigrants are estimated to pay in about $7 billion per year into Social Security.

[snip] WASHINGTON — The House passed a stopgap measure Thursday night to fund the government that includes $5 billion for a border wall sought by President Donald Trump. The bill is expected to be rejected in the Senate, and does little to prevent a shutdown on Saturday.[/snip]

Here's the question; why? Why did he reject that Dec. 20th spending bill?

And not a dime for border barriers which once again is the contested issue here and what democrats refuse to negotiate on.

He may behave like Trump but he isn't Trump. You are blaming Trump for this other guy's actions. It makes no sense.

I can see your confusion here. The article you site is either extremely poorly written or carefully crafted to instill just such confusion. They make it sound as if Trump refused to sign a bill that included 5 billion for a wall but in reality he refused to sign a bill with no wall funding which forced Republicans to introduce a new bill with wall funding which democrats then rejected. With that in mind reread the following two paragraphs.

WASHINGTON – A deeply divided House voted on Thursday to add $5 billion in border wall funding to a short-term spending bill, yielding to President Donald Trump’s demand for the money but casting further doubts upon the fate of efforts to avert a government shutdown"

"At an Oval Office meeting a few hours earlier, Trump had informed House GOP leaders that he would not sign the Senate version, sending them scrambling to deliver new legislation that included $5 billion in border wall funding."

This is the new bill with wall funding democrats won't negotiate on.

    Are you serious?

The House bill that you are so proud of was passed when republicans had the majority

It did not pass the senate because schumer and the democrats fillibustered it

That's not true. They just won't fund it the way he wants. They have refused his demand for $5.7 billion to build part of a steel wall across the U.S.-Mexico border. Democrats passed legislation the day they took control of the House that offered $1.3 billion for border security, including physical barriers and technology along the U.S. southern border.

Senate Democrats have approved similar funding year after year. Democrats have also supported broader fence-building as part of deals that also had a path to legal status for millions of immigrants living in the country illegally.
