Sure, but Pelosi was amazing when, for the first time in history, she dis-invited a POTUS from giving the SOTU in the House.

I hope trump will call pelosi’s bluff and hold the SOTU in the House chamber anyway

Because she does not have the power to disinvite the president

    That's funny...

He's already proposed $300 billion in new spending and yesterday announced that California was again to ignore federal law and allow all federal workers in California who are affected by Nancy's government shutdown to apply for unemployment benefits.

Under Newsom sedition will continue in California except Jerry Brown will not be around to babysit the children in the state legislature.

A child is in charge if "Romper Room."

Well at least you now admit Trump didn't walk away from a 5 billon dollar offer from democrats for a border barrier as you earlier stated and gave a link to attempt to prove which I debunked.
As for your new claim of a 1.3 billion offer to fund the wall, where exactly are you getting that? Last I heard Nancy said not a single dollar and then mockingly said "fine, one dollar".

I'll give Trump $1 for his wall': Nancy Pelosi prepares for White House showdown as newly Democrat-controlled House passes bill to end shutdown WITHOUT $5.6bn for border barrier that the president will veto"

If we have a wall, then migrants can be registered and get work permits rather than permanent residency. By putting their work into this country the migrants will be helping our economy grow. Also the money they earn will be sent home to their families, and that in turn will help better the economies in their home countries so that they won't need to immigrate here. It's a win, win situation.

This is how the southern European economies developed after the war. I know the largest source of money in Greece until these past decades, came from their workers in foreign countries. Since our migrants are paying into our Social Security system, then that money should be given back later on - and it can be done if they are registered as foreign workers.

The problem here are the Democrats who care only for votes.

I sure hope Trump doesn't cave in and that's what I'm hearing on the streets.

We'll see in about 3 1/2 hours from now when President Trump speaks to the nation.

If the Democrats are standing firm that illegal aliens and open borders are more important than federal workers and Americans on food stamps, Trump should just declare a national emergency and send in the military to build the wall.

Democrats have always supported border security in addition to border FENCING. By 2015, U.S. Customs and Border Protection had constructed 654 miles of fencing. But Trump needed on thing that all his base could hang their hats on for one reason or another. Whether it was illegals taking their jobs, whether it was just racists that didn't like brown skinned people, or for whatever reason Trump said the 2006 fence as too modest during the 2016 campaign — he said it was "not a wall" but a "little fence" that could be scaled with a ladder. All that bluster even though it was proven facts that illegal immigration was at it's lowest point in many years and the fact that more illegals come in through airports and illegally through the Northern border. Trump promised the wall would be made of "hardened concrete" as tall as "95 stories" with a "very big, very beautiful door." Okay, that's all just plainly stupid and illogical. Steel post fencing was ALWAYS in the bills proposed by democrats, always.

Why should American Congressmen address the American border crisis and a million furloughed Federal workers, when they can go and take a look at Afghanistan? Why simply ask those whose job and expertise it is to know such things as foreign matters when one can fly an entourage to there and swish a stick in Muslim soil. Why trouble ones self with the added burden to our Border Patrol, ICE, local law enforcement, local emergency services, emergency rooms, hospitals and staff, schools or the endless crimes committed against American citizens. Not to mention the tens of billions annually in cost to American taxpayers, or the driving out of legitimate businesses and the driving down of wages. No, let's all get on a plane and fly to Afghanistan instead, at taxpayer expense. That's the responsible thing to do.

Indeed. Trump is likely to lose in 2020 and at the same time take down the GOP Senate.

Ask trump. He and a few of his congressional cronies went to Iraq when all those people were suffering under the trump shutdown.

I recall there was a deal that trump rejected in the eleventh hour fifty ninth minute, after it was passed by both houses.

If McConnell actually did his job and put the various bills to reopen the government to a vote in the senate, the shutdown would be over. Seems he doesn't think the senate is a co-equal branch of the US government. (but then again he has his own russian connections to think of - his brother in law apparently).

Back by tuesday when congress re-convenes. Nothing can get done when trump's negotiating tactic is "gimme what i want" or no deal, since pelosi has no incentive to give it to him. He created the shutdown and perpetuates it, over his stupid Wall.

Course many americans fall for the bumpersticker equation that the Wall = border security and those that don't support the Wall (that america is paying for) are advocating "open borders". But I get that many trumpians buy into that bullshit, along with a bunch of paranoid racist nationalists.

Nope. I'm a retired teachers of high school students and adults who doesn't collect Social Security, use Medicare, who never needed a teacher salary, and splits time between living in the USA, Canada, and traveling the world. Back for Christmas from Australia, now spending time in Vancouver, but then off to NYC and Europe in a couple of months.

No the president is not ready to sign whatever the Senate and congress pass. The entire shutdown is because he reneged on this pledge in the first place, but followed thru on his proud threat to shut it down.
He then walked out on negotiations when told he wasn't going to get what he wanted.

Imagine vandalizing national security in the name of national security. The coast guard (who intercept 85% or so of illegal drug seizures ain't getting paid. Min wage TSA workers at airport security ain't getting paid. The friggin secret service ain't getting paid. Border agents and ICE and customs officers ain't getting paid.

Trump is holding all those workers and all their dependents HOSTAGE for his wall.

BTW, have you seen any plan for this wall? Or even what the thing will look like? After 2 years you'd think if it was such a national security emergency that Trump would have had it all in place and ready to rock and roll. But no, there isn't even an assessment of how much private property must be confiscated. America doesn't have a clue what his "wall" will look like.

Its just blind bumpersticker partisan bullshit that exploits ignorance and fear and justifies vandalizing the government and its employees.
