It's not that simple. Like it or not, the US is the biggest player in geopolitics. There would be many terrible consequences if we stopped foreign aid. As for the wall? It's an idiotic idea. There's a reason why nations stopped building walls around their borders centuries ago.

Ok. I'm not bound by anything Pelosi or Obama said. I see the wall as a waste of money. There are more sophisticated ways of securing borders and a wall is Trump appealing to idiots.

 

I didn't catch his speech, and I highly doubt he offered antthing substantive. He first needs to stop grandstanding for his base and defend the very concept of a "border wall," because the concept has been debunked for decades.

 

That's what you get when people figure out that they're not so sure that it's a good idea to worship a strongman, especially an emperor who has no clothes.

 

Different geographic areas have different needs. In urban areas with flat terrain, walls are effective. The border patrol is begging for walls in those areas. But walls would be a waste of money in rural, mountainous terrain.
