Some Dems are getting restless and deserting the ranks. Pelosi's job as Speaker may be in jeopardy, as it should be. Giving this tiresome retread yet another chance only highlights the problems the Democratic Party is having.

I wish we could utilize the energy off the mental gymnastics y’all are utilizing.
We could be off fossil fuels by early next week.

I don't think we should do anything immigration related while Trump keeps the country hostage. We don't negotiate with terrorists. We can talk immigration when the government is reopened. Shutting down the government to get your stuff passed is a horrible immoral way to do things. Trump can't budge without losing face and will continue to hurt a lot more if this shutdown continues. Also, when it comes to DACA, it was Trump who took it away, and democrats are arguing that Trump is just taking hostages to get wall funding, and his deal is only a 3 year extension anyway for wall funding which democrats and most Americans oppose.

He's just establishing that dems aren't interested in bipartisanship.

He could build the wall via declaration of emergency any time he wants.

When the GOP controlled the House, Trump should've jumped on that deal.

That was then, this is NOW.

    Trump blew it.

    Elections have consequences.

Just a few weeks ago, when she regained the speakership, dems were so sure Trumps days were numbered.

No doubt tonight there are a number of elected democrats wondering if it was the right decision.

You'll be hard pressed to name one Obama's achievement that is still standing... Even Obamacare, not yet legally repealed is dead de-facto, if not de-jure.

Trump winning - the definition: Millions of regulations canceled, energy independence, NATO members paying their fair share, booming economy, unprecedented levels of employment, strong stock market, the embassy in Jerusalem, no Paris accords, no TPP, hundreds of judges including two justices, no NK nuclear weapons tests for almost a year, China trade concessions, NAFTA replacement.....

WINNING.... but keep bleating about minor flaws, imperfections and work in progress. That's all you have, we get it.... Oh and the wall will be built one way or another and I bet deep in your gut you know that as well as I do.

So you are ok with Trump approving a 4 trillion budget bill when we are already trillions in debt? I always new when conservatives said they are fiscal minded, they are just pretending to be so.

The GOP isn't interested in bipartisanship, so why should democrats even try? He took away amnesty from hundreds of thousands of dreamers and wants to hold them hostage and get his wall funding for a pitiful 3 year extension. For context, the vast majority support amnesty for dreamers, oppose the wall, don't think the border is an emergency, and blame Trump for the shutdown. If he declares an emergency, he is going to get even more unpopular and there is a good chance he will get struck down by the courts.

You/Pelosi are in no position to decide when the talks start or end.... you have a boss who makes those decisions, The president by the virtue of veto powers vested in him by the founding fathers and the Constitution gets to decide when negotiations should start.

The president found Pelosi's bill lacking and inadequate, it's Pelosi's constitutional responsibility to improve it, negotiate and make it acceptable to checks and balances enforcing executive branch.

Trump won't settle for that and you know it. He want to have his name on a plaque on that wall.

Go home now or in 3 year, not much difference. If he "loves" these dreamers like he had claimed, he would provide them with a path citizenship.

Trumps makes a too good to be true deal offer, the Dems refuse to even discuss matters with Trump, attempt to skip the country, reject any deal before it's even offered, refuse to resolve the situation with DACA/TPC folks in exchange for measly (and necessary) 0.1% of the federal budget, don't come up with a counter offer (our bill or highway isn't it)...

But it's GOP that isn't interested in bipartisanship? hmm, rich.

I bet it does to them.... regardless... the dems' counter offer was what exactly? oh, there was no dem counteroffer, was there, they won't even talk, they won't even accept Trump's lunch invitation to discuss these things? My bad expecting the liberal scum to live up to their campaign bipartisanship promises and their pretense of caring about the "dreamers".
