Gavin Newsom, former mayor of San Francisco and relative of Nancy Pelosi seems to be feeling the waters for a presidential run.

He is known for his open border policies like health care and welfare for illegal immigrants paid for by Americans. Democrats tell me all the time they are pro border security and against illegal immigrants getting benefits. If Newsom runs will they suddenly support him?

Is they sanctuary country Democrats dream of becoming closer to reality?

How will Americans feel about being the world's welfare provider?

Do we need illegal immigrants to exploit and do the jobs Americans won't do for slave wages? Gavin Newsom says yes.

C'mon, you guys don't even believe in giving healthcare and welfare to our own citizens, of course you would be against giving it to anyone else.

Does that mean you're for giving everyone and anyone who makes it into America unchecked and unregulated healthcare and welfare?

    Will you support Newsom?

Newsom was lieutenant governor for 8 years waiting for governor Brown to retire. I don't think he will be interested in other job prospects for several more years. Perhaps the 2024 presidential election will be a better time to test the waters. Like Jerry Brown the new governor has never lost an election and has widespread support among Californians. There's much work to be done including universal health care for all people/ free community college/ housing assistance/ forest fire prevention etc. to keep Gavin busy in Sacramento.

He is putting the feelers out. I think he will run in 2024.

for anyone and everyone who sneaks in

For anyone and everyone who sneaks in

For anyone and everyone who sneaks in

The media will never hold democrats accountable for their hands off the forest policy that led to all the fires. Gavin won't have to worry about fires because all the forest have burned. He can now work on the train to bring up his supporters to the areas affected At a discount.

The California government has been involved in prevention of wildfires for some time. Brown and the legislature have passed laws related to climate change because global warming makes the forest/ woodlands prime for burning. High speed railroad from SoCal to San Francisco was passed by the citizens and construction is on-going in the Central Valley. But Newsom hasn't been willing to accelerate construction due to cost overruns.

Do you think banning removing dead trees at control burning contributed to California wildfires? Maybe just a little? They new global warming was coming and they did 0 to prepare the forest and infact they did the opposit. It's almost like they wanted it to burn down.

Dead trees due to drought/ heat are removed so long as environmental issues are addressed. Forest lands across the West are huge and often inaccessible. Much is under federal control so when Trump criticises California he is actually the one at fault.

That guy stinks of "used car salesman". I get the same slimy feeling watching Newsom talk as I got from watching Eric Cantor talk.

Gavin Newsom couldn't run San Francisco so the Democrats said that's the man we need to run California.

Put a child in charge of watching over all of the other children in the California state legislature.

But your opinion is nearly irrelevant. Last data indicates that Republicans have dropped below 25% of the electorate [well below independent voter who invariably support Democrats]. And no end in sight.

May explain why President Trump said that California will pay for the wall.

You mean the victims of fire that Trump would like to hurt by taking FEMA funds to pay for his foolish obsession?

The liberals and environmentalist should have gave it more thought before stopping maintaining firebreaks and fire truck roads and ending described control burns.

That's what Trump is referring to.

Evidently you haven't been paying attention; PG&E is being held responsible for the fire in Paradise. Same thing in SoCal, the electric power companies are being sued for not maintaining the power lines correctly.

Pretty hard to maintain the power lines when Jerry Brown and the Democrats forced PG&E and SCE to spend all of their resources of building new green energy wind farms and solar energy and building the infrastructure to get that green energy to L.A. and the Gay Bay. ;)

Why didn't America go underground like Europe when it came to the distribution of electricity ? Many of us have been calling for that for decades.

What caused the "Camp Fire" wildfire and most of the other wildfires were caused by electrical power lines is that the power lines aren't insulated.
High voltage lines sway in the high winds and make contact and they spark and molten aluminum falls to the ground igniting the brush.

    FRYI:
Jerry Brown's sister Kathleen Brown sits on board of Directors of Sempra Energy who owns PG&E.

I wonder what favors the Democrats gave PG&E ?

I'm coming to the opinion that you just enjoy being provocative and to not take you as seriously as some other posters; good or bad. And it is actually an apt characterization of Republicans in California. That is sad, btw. In one of your posts you identify all the people you don't like and it pretty much comes down to everyone but old white Republican men.

Actually, it is funny how things have changed over the years. You seem uncomfortable around gay folks and may never go to Palm Springs again. But keep your sense of humor and be glad you don't live in the Midwest/ South. At a fairly recent election of the Palm Springs city council one candidate was questioned if she was "really" bi-sexual since she is married to a man and they have children. Evidently the city council women revealed that she had a lesbian encounter in college and was hoping that it would make her fit in with the other council members who all happened to be LGBTQ including the mayor and, of-course, Democratic.

Republicans in today's America are the odd people outside looking in. You've got to be OK with yourself and accept your isolation. But just hoping that somehow Republicans will finally be electable in the Trumped GOP is a dead man's dream in California.

Who would have ever thought that the Aqua Caliente Indian Reservation would have gone gay ?
