Trump answers Pelosi on State of the Union: ‘A contract is a contract’

    https://www.politico.com/story/2019/01/20/trump-pelosi-state-union-address-1116063

“Nancy, I am still thinking about the State of the Union speech, there are so many options - including doing it as per your written offer (made during the Shutdown, security is no problem), and my written acceptance,” the president tweeted. “While a contract is a contract, I’ll get back to you soon!”

Why U.S. Law Makes It Easy for Donald Trump To Stiff Contractors

"The allegation that Trump is one of those businessmen who frequently refuses to fully pay his contractors was raised in a Wall Street Journal feature story last June, entitled “Donald Trump’s Business Plan Left a Trail of Unpaid Bills,” and was then revisited in subsequent pieces by such media outlets as Fox News, Reuters, NBC News, and New York Magazine."

Yup, the pathological liar went on another "morning Twitter rant" - he's becoming more unhinged every day. And yes, I certainly agree, he's been a deadbeat his entire life........;)

Are you as confounded as I am over his supporter's glee at people reacting with consternation to Don's daily idiocy while they ignore how unglued he becomes in writing these twitter rants?

Actually I'm not surprised at his supporters' glee. His hardcore support is no better than 33% or so and he's been tanking in approval / disapproval ratings since Dec 14 - for good reason. 538 does a daily compilation of various polls and he is bleeding support and the gap between approval & disapproval is growing, bigly. Hell, Trump is tanking even in his favorite poll, the Rasmussen daily poll. Even his so-called allies such as Ann Coulter are furious with him - just in the last month alone she's referred to Trump as a "gigantic ******bag", a "gutless sociopath", and a "gutless president in a wall-less country" :D.

Trump and the Republicans are in trouble over the Trump shutdown and Mitch knows it. It's just a matter of time until they agree to open up government and then continue the debate with the Democrats.

The bonus on reading Trump's Twitter feed? - the responses are hilarious. There are a lot of very creative and funny people out there in the twitter-verse.......;)

The commercial real estate development industry is crammed full of disputes between developers and contractors, far more than the average industry in the U.S. A developer as large as Trump has probably sued and been sued, paid and not paid, thousands of times. There are always two sides to the story. One of the legal remedies available against contractors not to spec or in breach is nonpayment. One of the remedies available to wronged contractors are state statutory liens, which have very sharp teeth. Then there are the vagaries of various types of insurance too lengthy to get into here.

Most anyone in the private sector knows these things, not surprised Complex denizens with no real world private sector experience do not.

So coloring this as "Trump not paying his bills" is a lie narrative due to the omission of necessary context.
