The Diocese of Covington and Covington Catholic High School said that "the matter is being investigated and we will take appropriate action, up to and including expulsion."

"We condemn the actions of the Covington Catholic High School students towards Nathan Phillips specifically, and Native Americans in general, Jan. 18, after the March for Life, in Washington, D.C. We extend our deepest apologies to Mr. Phillips. This behavior is opposed to the Church's teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person," the statement said.

They also apologized to March for Life attendees, saying that the teenagers' actions had "tainted" the event, and that they expressed "our most sincere apologies to all those who attended the March and all those who support the pro-life movement."​

I don't side with either the Native American protest over setting up border barriers or students who were in Washington to protest over abortion. The failure of leadership to defend the woman's right to choose and to deal with illegal immigration has led to people getting in each other's faces.

 

This happened outside of school and further is Federally protected speech hurting peoples feelings isn't violence and isn't unconstitutional I could walk up call the man a red skinned devil and its would be perfectly legal to do so. Why the witch hunt the parents if they don't like it should discipline the children no one else.

This story is debunked in the other dupe threads on this LW Fake News "outrage."

1. Group of KIDS at a young people's pro life event were waiting on their bus at the time and place they had been told by their school. They were waiting to leave and in the interim, started chanting school pride cheers, not political chants.
2. Two astroturfed LW ADULT protestor groups who just happened to be together (lulz), heard the school cheers, saw the group of KIDS, and because these ADULTS were there to disrupt KIDS at a KIDS event, and because some of the kids had MAGA hats, they walked up and begain harassing them.
3. Apparently the Black Israelites started yelling at the kids first, and then the Indians attempted to walk right through them. The kids (naively as kids are) first thought that the Indians were joining in their school cheers, and clapped along with the drum.
4. Soon it became apparent that the purpose of the LW astroturf was to bully them when Indian #1 walked up in one kid's face and started beating a drum and howling gibberish, not an Indian chant, just unintelligible yelling. Kid stood his ground and was probably scared to death. Students realized what was really going on and started yelling support to their fellow student.
5. This went on for awhile, then the Indian relented, turned around but kept beating the drum.
6. ADULT Indian #2 had been up in other KIDS' faces hollering racist, anti white ranting during this time and continued that for awhile.
7. Then the ADULT Black Israelites began a "Bible-based" homophobic rant in the KIDS faces, but not up on them like the Indians were admittedly.
8. When the chaperone/bus was ready, the kids instantly left. At NO TIME did any of those kids do anything they had not been told to do.

At no time did ANY of the kids physically aggress on any of the astroturfed adults, holler any racial slurs back, join in the homophobic rant in any way. They conducted themselves very well under the circumstances and deserve congratulations, not censure.

Who -does- deserve censure? The ADULT Indian and Black Israelite protestors at a KIDS rally BULLYING KIDS and trying to gin up reactions that could be used to show the Pro Life march of young people in a bad light, and detract from the FACT that over 100,000 showed up for it and conducted themselves well... as opposed to pretty much ANY LW themed protest.

 

"Kids being dicks" is actually an amazing meme for pro-Trump extremism.

Chanting "build the wall" at people protesting the wall isn't successful like disgraceful behavior on the kids part, they were doing exactly what the Indians were doing.

Suggesting David Hogg is not informed on him policy is a lot kinder than calling kids racist because they are wearing red hats. And that's the only reason.

 

If the adults instigated the situation, no, they were not at fault in fact they responded to the Indian man appropriately and since the Indians lost to the superior European led expansion into the country they don't deserve respect for losing and being to stupid to find out what was coming before starting multiple Indian wars. Normal leaders would send some men East, find out the threat and numbers and acted on the information and that would be we cannot hope to win if they decide to move in force to crush us. They were fighting some troops with our nation holding back since they weren't worth more of an effort.

This story is completely false. The kids did not seek the man out. The kids were not chanting "Build That Wall". The kids did not harass the man. Most native tribes who protest the wall, are protesting the illegal seizure of their reservation land for the wall's construction. Trump has basically decided that any land owned by native tribes is already federal land, and no compensation is needed. He literally just takes possession of the land, and refuses to give any form of compensaation for it.

The fact is that tribal lands, while technically being federal land, were established by law for the sole purpose of housing native tribes, and by law, and are not subject to the laws of the United States or any state. Trump is basically saying that he doesn't have to respect the law, and can do whatever he wants regardless of any laws passed by congress.
