The long enduring standard going back to Colonial Times was that at "quickening" (when movement could be detected) that human rights were bestowed on the child. That's about halfway through the pregnancy. And even today, we could settle this issue once and for all for the vast majority of America with freedom of choice through the first half and only for danger to the life of the mother in the second half. But, as is always the case with the Left, they want wedge issues not solutions.
