I judge by the last 35 years and the picture combined, 35 years is a lot of time, has he done anything racist in all that time, if he has it will come out

did he side with the white nationalist in his state like Trump did? call them fine people?

What about him? He was hiding his personal history and has been thoroughly denounced by Democrats. Where's the outcry among Republicans about Steve King?

this was not hidden, it was in a public yearbook, just seems everyone forgot about it, had it been found before the election, dems never would of voted for him and repubs would of won... now even if he steps down, dems win

like Trump, no one can force him to resign, but like Trump his political career is over after this one term

 

Of course it is, but even then, the democratic party is the party of identity politics that separates races based on victim ideology so in a sense, the rhetoric has changed but it is still separating identity by race.

 

It's this sort of attiude that is so prevalent in the GOP I could no longer consider supporting the party.

I originally called for his resignation when I first saw it and thought it was him, but if it's not, so there's really no story here anymore...

I'm sure Nancy or Hillary have committed some irredeemable sin over the weekend... time to stay on the attack!!

If he had the same explanation he has now, I doubt that..... With what I know today, I'd vote for him today... Cannot turn my state over to the Ed Gillespie's and Corey Stewarts of the world.. Unacceptable....

 

i do not live in that state, so not sure what the alternatives were or what Northam is really like, just what have heard in the news that last few days

facebook users should take notice, do not post anything that looks questionable today as explaining it later to a future employer is not something you want to do

what he did back then was not politically correct and now he is paying the price, regardless of his intent at the time

I do.... Virginia should be blue statewide for the foreseeable future, as we saw in the 2016 Presidential race (5.3%), the 2017 Northam race (8.9%), the 2018 Kaine race (16%). Granted, in all three of those races, the R's were running absolute dirtbags, but I believe even if they can find a statewide candidate who doesn't turn the stomach, the D's would win, albeit probably closer.

Northern Virginia, Tidewater, Richmond, Charlottesville, and Roanoke City are all now reliably blue...
