Isn't that amazing? The democrats for decades had a message that was always anti-war and were against sending troops to Iraq, under Bush. However, Hillary (secret war hawk) voted for it. Obama called her out on that while campaigning and debating her over and over. And then, after Obama is elected, he sends 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan. Obama was just like Bush, pro establishment. Only President Trump has stood up and spoke out for withdrawal of troops.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP’S December 18 announcement that he intends to withdraw all U.S. troops from Syria produced some isolated support in the anti-war wings of both parties, but largely provoked bipartisan outrage among in Washington’s reflexively pro-war establishment.

Both GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of the country’s most reliable war supporters, and Hillary Clinton, who repeatedly criticized former President Barack Obama for insufficient hawkishness, condemned Trump’s decision in very similar terms, invoking standard war on terror jargon.

But while official Washington united in opposition, new polling data from Morning Consult/Politico shows that a large plurality of Americans support Trump’s Syria withdrawal announcement: 49 percent support to 33 percent opposition.

That’s not surprising given that Americans by a similarly large plurality agree with the proposition that “the U.S. has been engaged in too many military conflicts in places such as Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan for too long and should prioritize getting Americans out of harm’s way” far more than they agree with the pro-war view that “the U.S. needs to keep troops in places such as Syria.

In the 1960s, democrats hated war and called the military baby killers.

Today, democrats love war and ARE baby killers.

Yes they have. They became pro war after Obama was elected. I have never seen such hypocrisy in any political party, ever! I am not a party person, I am a conservative.

Remind me again who started those wars? Oh right republicans.

And really great master of all generals trump is running around telegraphing his non-strategy to America's enemies. He didn't even consult with his commanding general about Syria before his petulant knee jerk order to withdraw.

But I get how some trumpians think turtling is a great idea.

So Obama was a Republican, when he partook in regime change in Libya, which resulted in disastrous affects? Was Obama a republican when he attempted to overthrow a secular dictator in Syria, which resulted in bloodthirsty jihadist filling the power vacuum?

Until Dubya, it was generally Democrat Presidents that started wars since the "progressive" era.

They are the warmongers. The War State grows the Central State and the Central State steadily erodes our freedom. Our system relies on peace. We can have wars, but we need to fight our wars and then resume peace. This new constant war isn't good for us, and did you hear the price tag Trump put on the War on Terror?

    Time. For. That. To. Stop!

Eisenhower was right in 1961 warning about the military industrial complex. His warnings have come true with a vengeance--this country is completely at the mercy of the MIC, and they are loving every minute of it. Perpetual war under fraud is really good for business.

I despise the Neo-Cons like Bill Kristol and always have.

We need to bring our troops home from Afghanistan and most of Syria ASAP.

Our military should only be doing two things... breaking things and killing. All the "Nation Building" is not what they were designed to do.

Over the years, I have witnessed conservatives become more wary of foreign entanglements, and more questioning of our defense establishment. I think that’s a step in the right direction.

Unfortunately, I’ve seen a portion of the left go full shill for the Military industrial complex, boot licking for the CIA, and get in bed with neocons. Thank god, there are progressives that do stick to their principles, and call out their fellow leftist who fallen for this McCarthyism 2.0, Russia hysteria.

I'll bet you yelled on cue for war in Iraq just like Dick and Don and their friends Ahmed, Lutti, Fieth, Wolfowitz, Pearle, and yes, Kristol, told you to.

Oh, and if you're so down on neocons, how come we didn't hear a peep from you when he made Bolton the National Security Advisor?

I was in the Military at the time the Iraq war began. I walked away from that experience feeling betrayed. And, I’m alarmed by Trump bringing Bolton into his cabinet. I think Bolton, along with the rest of his ilk are war criminals.

Trump point was that we have been fighting for a long time.

Its a lame deflection from his point.

The military industrial complex was never bigger than when Ike was using it to win WWII.

Defense spending today as a percentage of federal spending is about one third what it was when Ike was POTUS.

He's trying to entirely distract from the thread topic.

Its very AJ, just as democrats are very pro war/infanticide.

So why didn't you examine the arguments and learn why Democrats are against this withdrawal instead of making assumptions and throwing stones?

    democrats love themselves some war.

its the perfect excuse to satisfy their lust for the slaughter of the innocent.

obama killed more than 2500 people with remote control drones.

if theres no war, how can democrats keep score?

everyone knows trump cant beat obama. this is about legacy.
