That's the attitude that explains why Israel continues to suffer immense hostility from its neighbours.

Btw, I know the history. Far better than you I suspect.

What did I say that was historically incorrect?

To some non americans trumpettes refusal to accept reality and facts really does fluster them. Illogic and fantasy in the face of the challenges the planet and community of nations are faced with, does not go over too well with most.

After all, America is the biggest, strongest, richest nation on earth and She sure as hell didn't get there with those characteristics so often displayed by trumpettes.

No comment since you didn't say anything specific. I do it too. Understandable.

It’s for the same reason they want to take wealth from the best among us and give it to least among us: altruism, the principle of self-sacrifice for the good of others.

What was interesting about the quote you were answering was the statement "we don't believe them". This is the problem withy modern times. It isn't about facts or reason but belief. In some ways it was always so, but then we started all debate with an understanding that on the really big things we "believed" the same things. We believed in democratic institutions. We believed in the rights of nations to self determination. We believed in inalienable human rights. And so on. Reason and facts were used to deal with disagreements on how to realise these beliefs.

This was at least the case post WW2. That consensus is now over. "Belief" in gobbledegook and nonsense is now de rigeur again.

And what's wrong with stating that?
    Israel is America's ally.
    Most Americans personally support Israel.

Who are the allies of the latest Socialist Utopia in Venezuela?
They include Russia, Iran, China, Nicaragua, Cuba.... you know,
    the dictatorships.

It is necessary that someone could tell Trump that the white powder that he uses during the meal is not salt. Explain the Tramp that no salt is produced in Colombia.

No, it is just that Israel is an American ally, not a Russian one.

I want to put America first.

But for some crazy reason, you want to put Israel first.

That makes no sense at all.

    This is pure nonsense.

    Israel is the aggressor.

Israel is the one stealing land.

Israel is the one killing scores of innocent people indiscriminately.

And Israel is the one harboring a secret nuclear weapons program.

I love how people who put Israel before America accuse others of being anti-American.

A useless ally that puts a massive burden on our taxpayers and our military.

Trump is Too STUPID (and CLUELESS on World Affairs) to even to have a "Doctrine" (which a concept that is totally beyond his Feeble Comprehension).

I agree. If you are referring to me, you can be assured that I put America way before Israel and way, way, way before Russia.

Bless you Mac-7 - although you don't appear to be able to recognise straightforward statements - complete with accompanying caveats - for what they are.

Feel free to point out where I said you were historically incorrect
I think we all know very well what he meant by that, given the background of the necons who now control his administration.

But if you prefer to believe in fairy stories - and countenance the US being militarily and illegally involved in aforeign sovereign nation (Syria) in order to protect Israel from Iran - that's your affair.

I look at it this way - without America one could make an argument
that Israel would have no restraint and simply do to Iran right now
what Iran threatens to do in the future.
And without America I reckon half the nations of the world will go
nuclear overnight. Thank God for America.

Involvement in foreign affairs is a legal nightmare - don't go there:
unless you want to be an international lawyer and speak for all those
involved in Syria's conflict - Russia, Turkey, Iran, Lebanon, Israel,
    Kurds, ISIS, America etc..
I don't like people applying the law to one country and ignoring every
other country doing the same thing.

Dunno about that. Always pays to see both sides of the coin.
America now has the superb Iron Dome system - first developed
in America but refined under battlefield conditions by the IDF
when it shoots down missiles fired by the peace-loving Arabs in
    Gaza.
Lots of agricultural stuff which was invented in Israel has found
its way onto American farms. Ever used drip sprays?
And the F35 is seeing action over Syria. That's handy for the
    Americans.

Since you agree with me on the facts we’ll leave it there

The UN offered Jews and the arabs a peace plan in 1947 that the Jews accepted and the arabs rejected

Since then Israel has been fighting to preseve its existance
