Typical right-winged FAUXNEWS talking point. Did you actually watch the video? She pointed out the fact that corporation are allowed to buy politicians and write legislation to benefit themselves and it is all legal. These politicians are not representing their constituency and it's totally legal.

Did you miss that point? Do you have a point? Or are you just going to call AOC dumb and not address what she said?

Let's give government more control over us.
    Yeah, that's the ticket

Again, address the issue. The issue is that corporations can buy politicians and write legislation to benefit them. You guys just deflect.

You still have not addressed the issue AOC brought up. Do you have a problem with reading comprehension or are you being purposely obtuse?

There needs to be campaign finance laws in place to keep corporations out of politics.

That is the issue people. Please stay on topic.

Reading comprehension. I get a severe case of MEGLO when leftists pontificate.

She is apparently unhappy that government is corrupt. So it is. One just has to learn how to live with it.

    Corporations cant pass the legislation.
    Slimey government critters do that.
Two sides to the equation, only you're naive enough to think politicians won't continue to rape you

So your answer to political corruption is "it's always been like that"? WOW. Typical republican.

The "citizens united" case that passed let corporation money legally to flood campaigns. That's what the GOP gave us. Read up buttercup.

Corporations LITERALLY write bills and pass them to the politicians they own to present to congress. Corporations pass bills because they own politicians. Get the money out of campaigns. It has to stop and it can be with political will. The only party that wants to address this issue is the democrats.

So, who the hell doesn't know that? We don't need Ocasio-Cortez to grandstand for five minutes in Congress to "educate" us.

Why doesn't she do something useful?

So let's do something to keep corporate money out of politics. Would you be in favor of a bill to do so? Yes or no?

She is trying to do just that. She can't unilaterally pass legislation. She is shining a light on corruption and all the GOP can do is slander her character.

The question is are the corrupt politicians in favor of such a bill?

Of course not, but you didn't answer the question. Do you favor a bill to keep corporation money out of politics? AOC is highlighting a problem that needs to be addressed. Only democrats want to do something about this problem.

Sure, why not? It'll never happen though and democrats only want to grandstand on the issue.

The democrats are the only ones talking about it. You like the message but your partisanship won't let you get behind it because it is coming from the democrats. Citizens united was a GOP cause to flood our politics with corporation money. That was the GOP. Not the DEMs. The GOP did this.

Edit-So highlighting this issue is "grandstanding"?

I understand how a corporation can have a tax identity, mission, goals and values, but beyond that I do not believe it can have a specific political view. They can already lobby, allowing them to influence elections as if they speak with one voice is a mistake. The same for unions. The sooner we eliminate corporate funding of elections the better chance democracy has of surviving. I am not a Democrat.

Absolutely although unions fight for WORKERS rights so I am all for them. Unions are what built the middle class and as they have dwindled so has the middle class.

Unions represent a diverse membership that cannot be specific to one party. Just as corporations should not be allowed to buy elections, neither should unions. Just because it offends your liberal views does not make it right.
