Trump came out even worse off than the border funding bill he rejected before the national shutdown 2 months ago. Someone other than the radical Right must be talking into the big floppy ears of the president. Trump gets far less money and no concrete wall.

But sane Republicans are happy and have prevailed against the stubborn nature of Trump. Of-course Democrats are the winners again. 2019 looks dreadful for Trumped Republicans.

    Any thoughts?

Democrats will have to bargain eventually if they want any of their bills to become law.

Or they could win supermajorities in both houses, win the EC and Presidency, have Thomas, Gorsuch, Roberts and Kavanaugh drop dead.

I am sure they are considering that.

Too bad they don't believe in God or they could pray for it.

Democrats are likely to hold out and be stubborn. Remember, their leadership is being run by the far social Left now.
They wouldn't support anything that offended them even if they could gain something more valuable that they wanted in a deal.

If they were rational Trump would be able to make all sorts of deals.

Yea I don't think anyone doubts that.

This is who they are now, they will let the nation burn before cooperating with Trump.

Yes, there is a fairly large segment of the Republican Party against Trump.
The majority of them would be considered what are called RINOs.

The others would be George W. Bush Neoliberal-types.
(Personally I don't blame him, his worldview on economics was misled by what he was reading every day)

Anyway isn't it amazing Trump was able to get all those former Democrat votes in the Rust Belt?

Many of them are practically just liberals who want to keep taxes low.

Maybe globalists would be the right word?

    They have lost their identity

Now they - meaning republican swamp rats in the senate - will embrace any ideology in private that helps rgem get elected

But when the voters are watching they must pretend to be conservatives

What do you call Republicans that view illegal immigration as essential to the labor supply of the economy?
Oh, there are a lot more of them than you think, but they'll rarely ever admit this in front of the voters.

There were even more of them in the late 90s and early 2000s, before the Recession. Now a lot of them have pulled back a bit, but many of them are still the same people in Congress.

I have seen this behavior a couple times throughout history, here is one.

I believe they would rather see the country collapse than give Trump any kind of political victory.

Democrats are done. Ocasio Cortez and the rest of the Socialists are leading you down a huge sink hole. Americans was to remain free (not free money) and I'll be the one rolling on the floor laughing like a little girl!

Trump continues to be rattled by the 2018 election and reveals insecurity and reckless impulsivity. Clearly Pelosi is one woman that Trump doesn't intimidate. In-fact we see a weak bully unable to negotiate/ unable to persuade even members of his own party. Pathetic immoral traitor.

The losers are the weak-willed Republicans in the House and Senate. No Wall - No Campaign Money. Way it is shaping up now , way it looks now, Trump will be the only person I will cast a vote for. So tired of all these girly boy Republicans.

Use some perspective. A sport team can never win when the players are not united. Trumped Republican delusion is hurting the GOP and nation severely.

No one likes to watch a low score game - and no one likes to watch a blow out in an election. The country DESERVES two strong candidates representing two different views of how the country should be run for the benefit of the people. Sadly, campaigning has become a hollywood event and the debates no longer allow for people to learn about the candidates.

Some you win, some you lose. Knowing Trump, the Dems are just in for a rough time.

Trump is now talking about funds already appropriated for other projects. To do that he has to declare a Nat'l emergency. If Trump does that the house will vote to stop it. Then the senate has 18 days to vote on whether to back up Trump's "emergency". Senate Republicans don't want that because they have to be on record to be in support of Trump declaring an "emergency" or not. That could be damaging to senate republicans in swing states.
