... Jewish leaders urged the Arabs to remain in Palestine and become citizens of Israel.
The Assembly of Palestine Jewry issued this appeal on October 2, 1947:
We will do everything in our power to maintain peace, and establish a cooperation gainful
to both [Jews and Arabs]... peace and progress of sovereign equals.
... Israel's Proclamation of Independence, issued May 14, 1948, also invited the Palestinians
to remain in their homes and become equal citizens in the new state:

Had the Arabs accepted the 1947 UN resolution, not a single Palestinian would have become
a refugee. An independent Arab state would now exist beside Israel. The responsibility for the
refugee problem rests with the Arabs.

... first to leave were roughly 30,000 wealthy Arabs who anticipated the upcoming war and fled
to neighboring Arab countries to await its end. Less affluent Arabs from the mixed cities of
Palestine moved to all-Arab towns to stay with relatives...
January 30, 1948, the Jaffa newspaper, Ash Sha'ab, reported: "The first of our fifth-column
consists of those who abandon their houses and businesses and go to live elsewhere....At the
first signs of trouble they take to their heels to escape sharing the burden of struggle."
... Jaffa paper, As Sarih (March 30, 1948) excoriated Arab villagers near Tel Aviv for "bringing
down disgrace on us all by 'abandoning the villages.'"
... leader of the Arab National Committee in Haifa, Hajj Nimer el-Khatib, said Arab soldiers in
    Jaffa were mistreating the residents
. "They robbed individuals and homes. Life was of little value,
and the honor of women was defiled. This state of affairs led many [Arab] residents to leave the
city under the protection of British tanks."
John Bagot Glubb, the commander of Jordan's Arab Legion, said: "Villages were frequently
abandoned even before they were threatened by the progress of war."

... Jewish forces seized Tiberias on April 19, 1948, and the entire Arab population of 6,000 was
evacuated under British military supervision. The Jewish Community Council issued a statement
afterward: "We did not dispossess them; they themselves chose this course....Let no citizen touch
    their property."

Haifa area following an offensive by the irregular forces led by Fawzi al-Qawukji, and rumors that
Arab air forces would soon bomb the Jewish areas around Mt. Carmel. On April 23, the Haganah
captured Haifa. A British police report fromHaifa, dated April 26, explained that "every effort is being
made by the Jews to persuade the Arab populace to stay and carry on with their normal lives, to get
their shops and businesses open and to be assured that their lives and interests will be safe." ...

David Ben-Gurion had sent Golda Meir to Haifa to try to persuade the Arabs to stay, but she was
unable to convince them because of their fear of being judged traitors to the Arab cause. By the end
of the battle, more than 50,000 Palestinians had left.

(this goes on and on. You can see documentation for EVERY VILLAGE IN PALESTINE to check for
Arabs fleeing, staying, dying or being driven out. Most volunteered to leave or were forced out by the
    Palestinian authorities or religious leaders.)

I understand the U.S. support of israel. The hyperbole is not in facts. It is in opinion.

The majority of loyal Americans oppose America's obscene level of "support" of Israel(1) which is now in the $ Trillions.

How can you support such a treacherous & rapacious parasite whose leader has made his sentiments regarding the US - Israeli alliance perfectly clear:

Netanyahu: “Once we squeeze all we can out of the United States, it can dry up and blow away”

    http://web.archive.org/web/20060512234448/http://www.onlinejournal.org/Special_Reports/092105Madsen/

Even Israelis regard their American supporters as "inherently dupable people(2).

    (1) "81% of Americans Oppose $38 Billion Pledge to Israel"

Would redirect to caring for vets, education and lowering national debt

    https://original.antiwar.com/smith-grant/2016/09/19/81-americans-oppose-38-billion-pledge-israel/

EXCERPT “A solid majority of Americans would redirect $38 billion the Obama Administration pledged to Israel toward other priorities.

An IRmep poll fielded by Google Consumer Surveys reveals 80.8 percent of the US adult Internet user population says they would redirect the proposed spending toward other priorities.

    - Caring for veterans (20.7 percent) was their top priority, followed by

    - education spending (20.1 percent) and

    - paying down the national debt (19.3 percent).

    - Rebuilding US infrastructure was favored by 14.9 percent, while

    - funding a Middle East peace plan received 5.8 percent of support.

    - Only 16.8 percent said the $38 billion of pledged foreign aid should be spent on Israel.”CONTINUED

    (2) "WHAT DO ISRAELIS THINK ABOUT AMERICANS? START WITH DISDAIN"

    http://forward.com/news/israel/216074/what-do-israelis-think-about-americans-start-with/

EXCERPT " Though Israel is a famously fractious society, Israelis tend to agree on one thing: Their strongest supporters are an inherently dupable people.

“Most Israelis think Americans are pro-Israel and we can sell them anything, especially mud from the Dead Sea,” said David Lifshitz, the lead writer for the Israeli comedy show “Eretz Nehederet,” or “Wonderful Land.”

“Or — just regular mud with a ‘Dead Sea’ sticker on it.”CONTINUED

Repeating the same garbage over and over is very tedious. Go bother someone else.

You claimed that the facts I was asserting were hyperbolic but you are unable to articulate how they are hyperbolic.

It's hard to answer even if you are an American, because the average American doesn't really derive any benefit from the US commitment to Israel. In fact, the average American is paying out the nose in order to protect and promote Israeli interests in the Middle East. All the supposed benefits of this relationship are massively exaggerated by the Israeli lobby and its creatures in congress. And all the actual benefits we do derive from our relationship with Israel can be obtained without guaranteeing Israel's "national security". Americans are just footing the bill for Israel's foreign policy, which has been very aggressive and troublesome from the beginning of its existence.

I'm not sure what you think that proves.

The fact is, Israel was founded on lands that were inhabited by a large majority of Arabs who were subsequently driven off their land by Zionist invaders.

Calling those invaders "refugees" does not really change that reality.

Ah, yes... an "invitation" to surrender political sovereignty over their lands and homes and persons to Israel. How generous!

Why would the majority Arab population be under any obligation to accept the offers and demands of the Zionist invaders? If hundreds of thousands of "refugees" showed up in your neighborhood and started aggressively settling the land, how would you feel?

Still waiting for you to back up your antisemitism accusation. What did I say that was antisemitic? Be specific and explain your reasoning. Or did you do what all Israeli apologists do when confronted with facts and logic. i.e., resort to baseless smears?
