The corporate media ignores Venezuela's working class. The "Venezuelan people" are only those who support US regime change there. Mostly from the tiny rich sector.

Interesting: Socialist AOC is proud she drove the capitalist pig Amazon from New York. And yet many on this board still can’t understand what happened to Venezuela. Go figure.

AH, what happens with Venezuelan natural resources is the SOLE concern of Venezuela. For far too long, this country of mine and all other citizens hereof has meddled in the internal affairs of other weaker nations and it has done NOTHING but increase the national debt and support the system of welfare, also known as the middle-class and the Federal Reserve Banking System. If people want to continue this madness, do not complain when people ridicule, oppose, belittle and reject as a whole, the grand illusion of "The American Way of Life".

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is nothing more than the promotion of a disease (mental; intellectual) to maintain the artificial monetary system of Haves and Have Nots, which should caution people like her.

Notice how "democracy" is defined in Newspeak. It's presupposed that Washington only supports democratic forces in Latin America and democracy and free markets are synonymous:
So clearly the reporter understands how US imperialism works and is consciously aiding it by using coded language to decieve the casual reader.

Way better for American businessmen to own the oil, then Maduro—it will at the least end the starvation and malnutrition. If there’s one thing the American businessman does well, it’s make money.

You sure don't know anything about the oil business. Do you think Americans are just thieves?

Yeah because the profits of oil companies will somehow trickle down to the Venezuelan people. This is bizzaro world logic.

Even the CIA’s Fact Book acknowledges:
Privatization of the oil removes it from the public arena. It'll be in the hands of unnacountable private tyrannies.

Its all about the country's leadership and how they choose to spend oil revenues. They can invest in the people and the country (healthcare, education, development) like the Saudis or they can create a small privileged class. The foreign oil companies have no say in that. They are not missionaries or reformers, they are oil men.

Right. They belong to whomever can get it out of the ground and bring it to market. Not to some damn fool dictator whose only claim to fame is he’s good at making people poorer.

Private ownership = wealth for the individual.
State ownership = poverty for all but the state.

Better the men with wallets than the men with guns.

In an oligarchy, the men with guns have often served the interests of the men with wallets. Like the death squads in Colombia serving the interests of Coca Cola and Chiquita Brands. Or the death squads in El Salvador that served the interests of the landowners, growing coffee and sugarcane.

What about the men with the wallets, supported by other men with guns?

    Stressing this point...

Notice how "democracy" is defined in U.S. Newspeak. It's presupposed that Washington only supports democratic forces in Latin America. Democracy and free markets are synonymous:
That is as Noam Chomsky put it:

The imperial culture runs deep. Even among supposed liberals like Bill Maher. On his show he invokes the Monroe Doctrine and presupposes the right of the US to appoint Venezuela's head of state because, in his words, it's in "our backyard." Then he goes back to propagating Russiagate. Without a flicker of embarrassment.

    Update:
