yeah I'd like someone explain to me how penniless illegals are moving to a state and driving up rent and home values....wealthy people drive up prices, not poor people...

we have the exact same issue in Canada in Vancouver, the poor and middle class are being forced out of the city and to the suburbs, it's become un-affordable to own or rent without wealth or a high paying job...the cause wasn't poor illegals moving in, it was rich asians immigrants moving in driving up prices...at first no one cared because people were making millions selling their homes to asian immigrants but now few can afford to move there...as I posted earlier I should've moved there when I had a chance 35yrs ago and then again 19 yrs ago, I would've bought a home or two and sold them and made millions and with those millions move away to a small coastal community and retired...

    I did explain it already.

You have houses packed full of 30 people, 4 minimum wage income earners crammed into the same 2-bedroom apartment, 2 bunk beds in each small room, and someone sleeping on the fold-out couch, and a baby crib on top of that.

    I saw it firsthand.

Exactly, but that applies to everywhere. Conservatives are the quintessential loser snowflakes, desperately afraid that foreigners will show them up once they lose all their privilege, so even their business owners seek to use tariffs to force us to buy their shoddy goods. Real Americans welcome competition for it gives them a chance to show how good they are. We win by working harder and making things better for less money, not by restricting immigration and charging tariffs. Opposing mercantilism was the reason we became a nation in the first place and it will ruin us if we let a small minority of bigots impose it on us again.

Clearly you need a better low flow shower head. Mine has spectacular pressure - best I've ever had. It is the equivalent of two gallons per minute, though it is so powerful I doubt I've ever got close to that - I usually have to keep the water pressure low.

My city has often gone through extended periods of water restrictions. We all put on our big boy pants and deal with it like grownups rather than acting like endless quantities of water to wash driveways, water golf courses, fill pools and water gardens is some sort of right.

Yeah, being able to take a shower with a showerhead that has a nice decent flow is not a right...

With that type of mentality no wonder people are getting disgruntled and leaving.

I hate the english language with passion. The way you pronounce words like YES and eYES or CHASE and purCHASE is different. READ can be pronounced different but its written the same. Shut up and shut down does not mean opposite things. And so many weird rules...

Speaking english relies on experience and not on following logical constructs and assumptions.

That small home you pointed out for $390k, I want to point something out to you.
To be in Los Angeles for only 390k that home must be in a really bad neighborhood. We're talking gangs and random people occasionally getting shot or stabbed, and anything of the slightest value you set in your front yard will likely be stolen within a week.

The reality is an average very modest home in that area will typically go for at least $450k. If you want to live in a mostly White/Asian neighborhood you're talking $500-600k.

You know, for always ranting how great capitalism is, you guys sure don't understand how it works. It's called supply and demand. If someone is selling a 962 sqft home for $390,000, that there must be a market for it. I guess people would rather overpay for a small home in California than get a bigger, cheaper home in Texas. It kind of contradicts the whole point of this thread, doesn't it.

People migrating because their shower isn't strong enough. What a nation of whiny children you have become.

One among many reasons. It's a certain type of mentality from those governing.

Yes, it must be terrible having people in government who try to conserve limited resources. How awful for you all.

But power showers are extremely wasteful. If you do have a power shower or a mixer shower that runs directly off mains pressure and hot water pressure that's in a bath and put the plug in and you'll be amazed how much water is used - a normal bath uses less water.

The high cost of living is linked to successful areas which attract high earners resulting in higher cost of living. If you want low cost of living, find a slum or failing city

Psssst . . . Mexicans believe it, else they would not have fenced their southern border AND have VERY stringent immigration laws.

Not what I said, but you just clarified that you will racialize any statement made.
Try actually reading what is written, or your comprehension will be called into question.

Why do illegals come here? To earn money. When should their eligibility to work come into question? When they apply for work. How should it be verified? By the employer via e-verify or by a nationalize Social Security number validation program.

Simple enough for even you to understand. Legality is not judged by name, skin tone, accent, or any other facet. Learn it, it may help you someday.

Some folks believe in magic, unicorns and pixie dust, the rest of us believe in reality. People are working over time to get out of the government created hellhole known as California.
