Some of these things may not be fair, but how do you expect enforcement to know who the illegals are? Anyway, I suspect they were detained because when approached their English wasn't really good.
You know, I tried to learn Spanish all of my life, but I just can't do it to save my life. That's American Spanish, not European Spanish.

If they win no more cleaning motel rooms for them They can go back to their home county and build the best hovel in the shantytown

They didn’t detain her so I am not sure why she would win — not saying that our police and courts won’t settle with taxpayer funds though. All she had to do is ask “am I being detained or am I free to go”, that would have ended it.
I don't believe so, but admitting that it was because they were speaking Spanish is just plain stupid.
