Yes, insurers can cancel coverage if you don’t pay your premiums or if you put false or fraudulent info on your insurance application.

Do you think insurers “refuse to pay claims” for no reason at all or for sh!ts and giggles?

The difference is that a statutory right can be easily revoked.

Obviously some people are unfortunate. Many who file bankruptcy can't or won't control their spending. It's hard to know. I won't assume that every person discharging a medical bill in bankruptcy court is blameless in the affair. He may have contributed to his health problem as well as his financial problem. I certainly wouldn't craft national policy to fix it. Why should I? What's he doing for me?

Besides, bankruptcy isn't the end of the world. In chapter 13, you keep all your assets and pay what you can over a 3 to 5 year period, sometimes 10 cents on the dollar, and then you're debt free and lost none of your assets in the process. Did you know this?

Yep, but their opinion is also can be fraudulent. When they are lying to you you can't fight them because they have an army of lawyers against an ordinary guy who know nothing about their fraud.
That is a exactly the case for an implementation of universal health care. WE need it to eliminate any kind of dispute about insurance, because it is detrimental and unsafe for a sick person to fight fraudulent charges from the doctors and medical facilities.

Whoever has more power and money wins, even though their charges are fraudulent.
That is exactly the reason we need a universal health care coverage, we need to eliminate a private insurance fraud.

When did they revoke our right to Medicare when we qualify?

Medicare and Medicaid fraud dwarfs private industry fraud per person in the system. Medicare insures approx 43 million and generates $60 to $90 billion in fraud.

That's 43 million (Medicare) vs 213 million (Private Insurance)

213 million private insured with $70 billion in fraud. 43 million Public insured with $60 Billion in fraud (I used the lowest estimate).

Private insurance fraud has approx $330 in fraud per insured.

Medicare Government run insurance approx $1430 in fraud per insured.

Fraud in the public sector insurance is over 4 time that in the private sector, yet our Government thinks it can administer health insurance better, that would include the fraud too. The ACA regulates private insurance companies to spend 80% - 85% of their collected premiums on insurees and limits administrative costs like the ones used to combat fraud 4 time more effectively than Medicare.

But no one investigates private insurance for fraud.
$70 billions is extremely great number, far greater then Medicare if you take into account that they insure younger people.

How is Medicare a right? It is forced on the people. Rights don't have to be forced.

Right, except in probably most cases if an ambulance is needed, the person needs to be brought to the nearest ER for obvious reasons. And given that only about 20% of US hospital are govt sponsored hospitals, many people don't have the luxury to go to such hospitals, even if they are able to "plan out their emergent care".

Um...no. Insurers don't have "opinions" about what info an individual fills out on a healthcare application form. The info an individual fills out is either correct or it isn't. It has nothing to do with the insurer if a person puts down fraudulent info. That is on the individual. But I see you'd rather shift blame to the insurer instead of the person who is actually to blame.

Yes - all that was paid by our government through a good number of agencies, covering the overhead of those agencies as well as the overhad of the providers involved.

That's just one of the reasons it's so expensive to us.

With Medicare for all, that goverrnnment and provider overhead gets saved.

Again, a lot of the fraud comes from sources that can be eliminated by Medicare for all, since it is related to people scamming their way into healthcare - a crime that just wouldn't exist anymore.

Because it does not result in timely care without bankruptcy for many.

    Now

Why does no politician agree with you that our current system works well?

Those questions ARE confusing, to say the least.
Well, that is exactly why insurance companies should be eliminated from the market, by implementing Medicare for all.
Insurance are leeches they do not produce anything, they have absolutely no place in our life.
I understand usefulness of life insurance, care insurance etc, but health insurance is a fraud by design.

No, questions on an insurance application are not confusing for anyone over the age of six.

So life insurance good. Health insurance bad. Got it.

So if insurance companies are eliminated from the market how will people on Medicare For All pay for their co-pays, medications and those services not deemed essential?

Various plans could be offered as with any health insurance scheme.

You are alluding to people who have health insurance in addition to medicare?

People get denied for a plethora of issues now. And many people can't afford medications even if they have health insurance. I don't understand what you think is working in the system now for anyone who doesn't have a Cadillac plan through their employer.

I was responding to Kreo's post that suggested insurance companies be eliminated. I don't see a Medicare For All actually covering everything. I see plans that talk about "essential services" and co-pays for services and prescriptions. If that is the case how will the poor afford those things not covered?

But that is not about insurance, it is strictly plan administration.
The health insurance is not possible, by the simple reason that health care cannot be measured, unlike car insurance or life insurance where a specific amount of money is negotiated.

My point was that health insurance is a fraud by design.
They have to lie and deny claims, in order to make money.

Valid point. And that is one reason why I don't see Medicare For All working. As you say, life and auto have set amounts where health does not. That fact would indicate that we the people and our government are really not sure what we would be getting into with Medicare For All. We don't know what the costs will be as the Baby Boomers age and the fat people get fatter.

They haven't, and they won't. I didn't write the contrary. But some of you seem to think that once Congress creates an entitlement, that it's constitutionally protected forever. It isn't, and it needs to be modified.
