So, I'm a Democrat and I see that there are a huge number of Democratic candidates running for President in 2020.

The big question is when should I start paying attention to the Democrat primary candidates. It's still 2019, so the major campaigns aren't going to emerge for a while yet. It would save me some research time if I waited for the field to start thinning out.

On the other hand, even though it's not 2020 yet, it's probably going to be non-stop campaigning for over a year out from the 2020 elections. That's the way things have been happening for the last few years.

I will start paying attention to the Democratic party primaries as soon as someone hacks the DNC emails again and they are published on Wikileaks.

    Great entertainment.

About a week before the first primary debate. Don't stress on it before then.

You don't have to worry about it, the DNC will decide who your nominee will be for you.

Why, I am pushing for Tulsi every chance I get. This is the chance to get behind the person who most closely matches your views. Waiting to see who the money people get behind is too passive for me. If Tulsi get pushed out in 6 months then I choose again and again from who is left. I hope to go to NH next spring, then Mass and then RI driving people to the polls etc.

If Tulsi is still standing after Super Tuesday I would be shocked.

It depends what state you live in. If you live in Iowa or New Hampshire you have to start early. If you don't most of these candidates will be gone before you can possibly impact any result. I begin to pay attention a little before super Tuesday, because as an Oregonian, my primary will be late. I want to be paying attention early enough to see how the candidates handle the ebbs and flows of a national campaign and the stresses of its most intense times and follow the evolution of their statements and responses to media coverage and current events.

I can't see why she would not be. I think her message will resonate. Although Sanders entering the ring splits the non interventionists/Anti wall street vote. Warren has to answer to the progressives as why she held her nose and backed Hillary.

When should I start paying attention to the Democrat primary candidates?

    When you get really bored.

U should be actively 'vetting' your candidates now. Make a difference, If you think that there are some espoused fundaments of ideology that run counter to your 'world view' & .... ~ dream... Well get involved and help stifle some candidates & do your 'daggon' best to undergird others... :)

I will vote for Trump again.

Why not wait until one of the Democrats looks like they have a slight chance?

I did that last time with the Republicans.

I vote only republican. But I just might take your lead, re-register as a Democrat, vote for the worst D, and go back and change back my registration. Good idea. Thanks.

The way the media favors Democrats, you will have a next to impossible task vetting your Democrats. All you will be able to use are their own faked promises.

I will check that out. Thanks. Here in CA, I already know it won't matter. By the time Fall comes around for the General, my state won't matter one bit anyway.

yeah, that sux, and they call it 'democracy', what a farce. it's pretty much the same here in ny, all our d's go to whomever the city chooses... so may as well enjoy the primaries and try to screw the dems that way... makes me feel good...

I've already started to research and weed the field because as usual I'll be volunteering for someone. I can't volunteer for Trump, Weld, Biden, Sanders, Booker, Harris...obviously for different reasons:)

What do you volunteer for? What kind of work is it? Is it for the candidate of your choice?
