Your point is valid, and should re-direct the discussion to several topics, including how this country is served by war brought under fraud, going into its 18th year now.

Not a biggie, just the media getting it wrong as usual when it comes to military things.

Martha McSally wasn't a fighter pilot, she flew the A-10 Warthog which is an attack aircraft not a fighter.

Flying a single, or two engine plane doesn't compare in any way to flying a modern fighter jet.

You're on to something, when President Obama started lowering the standards for the military officers corps and adopting social engineering of the military in the name of political correctness, military planes started literally falling out of the sky and U.S. Navy ships started running into other ships while at sea.

The A-10 is not a cargo plane.

She flew in a war zone!

The C-130 Hercules is a cargo plane and Khe Sanh was a battlefield.

Actually it does. The airplanes are airplanes, all that differs is the powerplant and systems.

As another poster has pointed out, McSally flew the A-10 which technically is not a fighter, but a ground attack aircraft. Small difference.

They don't look anything alike. They don't fly alike. The skills necessary to fly a slow, manual, single-engine plane is minimal compared to flying faster-than-the speed-of-sound, fighter jets.

In my experience the A-10 was primarily close air support ... but regarding the topic, McSally's story just ought to be used to promote reforming the archaic UCMJ. Any service member who's faced the "tribunal" ... and I have ... knows it's a colossal battle. Particularly when bringing charges against a superior officer. I fully understand why McSally didn't pursue it at the time ... but her lack of urgency after separation from service is a problem. Of course there are rapists in the military, it's a microcosm of society. McSally demonstrated her courage during her tours as a pilot, and it's very unfortunate she couldn't find the courage to take legal action the very day she left service. So, for the sake of future victims, McSally should demand UCMJ reform

I believe any member of the military who commits rape should be hanged by the neck until dead.

Look at how many American soldiers in the European theatre of war during WW ll who were hanged for rape.

That said, what were the social justice warriors and PC liberals thinking when they demanded that women be allowed to serve next to men in the military ?

I served during the Vietnam War era when not to many women served.

But not once did I ever hear of a WAC, WAVE, Woman Marine, WAF or a SPAR being raped.
    It just didn't happen.

Women had their own barracks away from the male barracks patrolled by armed MP's, off limits to all men.
Crossed the line you found yourself "standing before the man" and in the brig or stockade, hard labor.

Personally I don't hold as much agaist women serving, as I do with UCMJ. The "officers club" tribunals couldn't be more biased towards inferior ranks. You pretty much forfeit your 1st, 4th, 5th A rights under UCMJ.

Before 1951 there was no UCMJ.

The U.S. Army had their own regulations and the Navy had their own regulations.

Not familiar with Army old regulations but the U.S. Navy (Marine Corps) had “Rocks and Shoals.”

    It's all here;
Articles for the Government of the United States Navy, 1930

Department of the Navy - Bureau of Navigation

United States Government Printing Office, Washington, DC

    1932

    ...-> https://www.history.navy.mil/resear...icles-government-united-states-navy-1930.html

Before political correctness the Navy had RED LINE Brigs run by U.S. Marines and the Army also had Red Line stockades.

During the early 1970's liberal in Congress declared that red line brigs and stockades to be cruel and politically incorrect.

Well certainly the guys selected to fly those aircraft are the ones most apt to flying aircraft, no doubt, and that is sensible.

But otherwise you're way off on your analysis about pilots transitioning between types of aircraft. Aircraft are built so that humans, however skilled, can fly them, they are designed that way by engineers. You're making a mountain out of a mole hill, but I love the photos.

No, but the same location in Alabama. I don't think airmen were involved in those tests, but I'm not sure.

As she did not report the rape when it happened, she may have been somehow complicit in the alleged rape incident. We can never know if a superior officer sexually assaulted her or she had an affair with this man.

One cannot be complicit in an act of being raped. If they were complicit, it was not rape. I believe the woman as I watched her testimony in the Congress. I think she did the right thing and exposed what's in the closet. Good on her.

Will anything come of it? Hell no, but it's been exposed for those of us paying attention to what's happening.

The Navy pilots displayed the behavior with their https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tailhook_scandal

Accidents have increased. One word: sequestration.

"The Budget Control Act of 2011, commonly known as 'the Sequestration,' triggered automatic defense spending cuts in 2013. As a result of the cuts, defense spending across the board was reduced. It's hard to separate correlation from causation here, but the evidence certainly suggests the cuts had the unanticipated effect of more and more dangerous accidents. Cutting procurement results in older, more difficult to maintain aircraft staying in service longer. Cutting maintenance makes aircraft more likely to be unavailable for flight operations and increases the chance an undiagnosed issue will cause problems. Cutting on training leaves aircraft and ship crews less effective at their jobs, especially during unexpected situations."

We don't know if it even happened at all.

That said, we have a problem and her story, true or not, reminds us ot it.

But we must presume innocence, before the law. The presumption of innocence also happens to be the foundation of the criminal legal system.

Is she not entitled to the presumption of innocence of pulling a Smollett on us?

She has harmed no individual by her actions. Why assume she is lying?
