I'm not sure it's that simple, 2 people can have very different interpretations of the same event especially if drugs and alcohol are involved. I reserve judgement.

    Same as you.

I believe her, but I don't see how I could condemn someone she might identify as her attacker based on what she's presented.

Women should speak up. If a perp has attacked a number of women (Bill Cosby...), an individual woman might shake the tree and a bunch of apples could come down.

It's a good thing she is not seeking retribution for her rapist. She is not seeking Harvey Weinstein or Brett Kavanaugh, she is simply making a personal experience public, nothing more. Hoping to start discussion of ways to prevent it.

Sadly, just like the Catholic church, until offending individuals are punished with legal action, nothing will change.

Cooperate and graduate is very much emphasized in the military.

Troops charged in Green Beret’s death in Mali planned to record him being sexually assaulted, Marine says

By Dan Lamothe, Reporter covering the Pentagon and the U.S. military
    June 5 at 2:11 PM

Four elite U.S. Special Operations troops charged in the death of a Green Beret soldier in Mali plotted to record him being sexually assaulted as part of a plan to embarrass him through hazing, according to one of the accused service members.

Marine Staff Sgt. Kevin Maxwell said in a written stipulation of facts submitted for the case that the plan included bursting into Army Staff Sgt. Logan Melgar’s bedroom in the capital city of Bamako with a sledgehammer, choking him until he fell unconscious, tying him up and recording it on video. The service members involved had just returned from a night of drinking, he said. ... Those statements roughly match the testimony of Chief Special Warfare Operator Adam C. Matthews, a former member of the Navy’s SEAL Team 6, who pleaded guilty in the case last month.

But Maxwell, a Marine Raider who was in Bamako to assist the SEALs, also told authorities about the sexual assault plan, according to the stipulation. A copy of it was obtained by The Washington Post and verified with two sources who are familiar with the investigation. They did so on the condition of anonymity, citing the sensitivity of the matter.

The four service members charged in the case were joined in the room by a Malian security guard and a British man who had befriended the Americans, Maxwell told authorities. The security guard was to carry out the sexual assault, while the British national planned to record it on a cellphone, Maxwell wrote. Those accusations have not previously been disclosed.
    ....

Gang rape is a fact of life on a daily basis in the military, especially when it is a male victim. We have discussed findings made during the Bush regime about that a long while ago but it did not generate much interest on this forum. As usual, there is much admiration for the military here especially from the far right.

But by making the allegation and not substantiating it she casts suspicion on every officer she ever served with?

I very much doubt gang rape is a 'daily occurence'
I very much doubt gang rape is a 'daily' occurrence in the US military, I'm sure it happens as it happens in civilian life?

The findings, which were made by Congress at the behest of Bush, were disclosed on this forum previously. I do recommend that you look it up.

A friend of mine was in the first wave into Iraw in 2003. He told me of how the women were right there with the men, including in the showers when they got one. There were no rumors or allegations of anything inappropriate that happened. He was an E7 at the time and would have known if anything was said.

Rape, or even using rank or position as a means to get sex, arent nature taking its course. Its boredom combined with low character. It happens in every walk of life from the lowest grunt to the fortune 500 CEO.

It was affirmative action and cultural-marxism that allowed McSally to sit in the cockpit of an A-10 Warthog which is not a fighter but an attack aircraft.

Maybe the corps of officers deserves suspicion for their actions INCLUDING silence about the status quo?

    *shakes head*

You see, this is why I tend to feel that certain behaviors should be responded to with exile or a bullet to the head.

Tell me, and you know of this because of what exactly? Your "vast experience in the military"? You seem to honestly believe that there is some kind of Affirmative Action program in the military, that puts individuals into places they are not qualified for. Amazing, that people can be so absolutely idiotic in what is almost the end of the first quarter of the 21st century.

Ohhh, and let me add some facts to your list of coprolite that is absolute bullcrap.

That "crash over Japan a few months ago", I can only assume you mean the one in December 2018, where a C-130 stuck an F/A-18 during refueling operations.

Well, I have yet to find who was actually piloting that aircraft, but it was one of 2 individuals.

The first was the pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Kevin R. Herrmann, of Fredricksburg, Virginia. He joined the Marines after graduating Appalachian State University in North Carolina in 2002. The other possability was Major James Brophy, of Poughkeepsie, New York. The rest of the cew was Staff Sergeant Maximo Flores of Surprise, Arizona. Who followed in his father's footsteps in being a Marine. Then we have Corporal Daniel Baker from Tremont, Illinois. And finally Corporal William Ross of Hendersonville, Tennessee.

OK, so please let us know which of these was the one flying the aircraft at the time, and a "Turns out the pilot was an Arab minority and was probably hired through affirmative action.".

So was Lieutenant Colonel Herrmann, or Major Brophy the "Arab minority"?

Damn...I'm glad I served back when the U.S. military wasn't being used for social engineering and buggery was severely dealt with.

During WW ll the U.S. Army hanged 95 American soldiers, mostly black American soldiers mostly for rape.

At this stage, the accused might sue her and win. Her lawyer fees would be astronomical and there is no proof, much like in the case of the professor from Stanford.

What flying experience do you have? Actually, what do you even know about the mishaps at all that makes you think it is affirmative action? Because I know most of the people that have been involved with them and I would just like you to admit to not knowing what the hell you’re talking about.

Only if she can present some sort of evidence. Otherwise it's nothing more than a completely baseless allegation...

In context, how does one retain evidence of such an encounter with a superior officer? Keep a pair of soiled underwear for years? Take a picture of the tryst?

Hey, Monica kept a blue dress.

Police investigate rape every day, Sadly, it's not a rare thing. But if a woman decides to not come forward with an allegation within a reasonable time frame, then she should understand that choice comes with certain ramifications.

Or do you believe we should just accept someone's word when they say they were sexually assaulted? More distressing than your apparent shock that I would demand evidence is that, apparently, you wouldn't...

Aspiring actresses expected and accepted the casting couch. It was a leg up in an extremely competitive milieu.

It's a great aircraft in the great tradition of the Skyraider and close enough that I consider her a fighter jock.
