Right-wing personality Jacob Wohl appears to have faked death threats against himself and submitted them to police as evidence that he was facing “terroristic threats,” according to newly released documents.

Wohl and fellow provocateur Laura Loomer went to Minneapolis last month to “investigate” whether their quest to prove that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) married her own brother—a charge based on flimsy blog comments that has been disproven.

Wohl’s videos to his fans were premised on the idea that Minneapolis is an incredibly dangerous place, and often featured him wearing a bulletproof vest. At one point in a new video about their trip, Wohl goes to a Minneapolis police station to report death threats he says he and his team have received since being in the city.




One of those threats came via direct message from a Twitter account called @Drakehomes612, who described himself as a Minneapolis “diversity coordinator.”

“I hope you ****in know that if bump into you in Dinkytown or anywhere else in my city I’m going shoot you and **** on your ****ing bodies,” the account wrote to Wohl’s team. “Get that **** out my city you piece of ****. Now.”

But @Drakehomes612 isn’t a real account. As journalist Tony Webster first noticed, @Drakehomes612 is one of the fake accounts Wohl created in the run-up to his Twitter ban. A source familiar with Wohl’s fake accounts confirmed to me that @Drakehomes612 was run by Wohl before being deleted by Twitter. That means Wohl was sending himself fake death threats, presumably in an attempt to up the drama during his Minneapolis videos.

Wohl submitted the faked messages to police as proof that he was facing “terroristic threats” via Twitter. The faked messages threatening to “**** on your ****ing bodies” were included in a packet of police documents related to the case issued on Wednesday by the Minneapolis Police Department.

This isn’t Wohl’s first brush with controversy. In 2017, he became the youngest person to receive a lifetime ban from futures trading. Last year, he was involved in a scheme to smear Special Counsel Robert Mueller with sexual assaults allegations. Months later, the accuser Wohl had lined up told USA Today that Wohl had made all of the allegations up.

Loomer, who didn’t go to the police station, said she wasn’t involved in the report. Wohl didn’t respond to requests for comment. But he’s already lost one of his top allies on the right.

Activist Ali Alexander, who organized Wohl’s trip to Minneapolis and went with him to the police station, posted a video early Wednesday morning trying to distance himself from Wohl. Alexander claims that Wohl showed the faked direct messages to the police.

In the documentary, Alexander compares Wohl to both Batman and Iron Man. But now, he’s backing away fast, saying Wohl may be a “bad actor.”

Let's put it this way: Assume two white guys also just happened to be walking about Chicago at about 2 AM, unaware of what was going on. The police nab them and they get charged with assault on Jussie as they fit the profile he made up for his attackers. How much time would these hypothetical people be looking at? That's how much time Jussie should get.

 

If it was a drug case, selling phony drugs, it's called representation and carries the same time.

 

Does anybody have any idea as to why there has been all this attention (including world wide tv news coverage) of the Jussie matter while everyone is ignoring Jacob Wohl's fake news?

Just about the same crime, same facts and circumstances, but all the negative attention is on one.

An unfortunate set of events, but too vague to be actionable. They'd have to be closer to the precipice. For instance, Smollett would have to pick them from a lineup. And there would have to be other circumstantial evidence, such as MAGA caps for Detectives to charge them. From that point onward, were the fraud uncovered, Smollett would qualify? for their potential sentences. But that didn't happen. And Smollett never intended to hurt anyone. He was just playing to the left wing hysteria for his own benefit. And he punked them all. Anyone who doubts that the mainstream media is a left wing propaganda machine, need only observe their conduct regarding this matter. They were all in. They ran the story to the hilt, going so far as to say that anyone who doubted the narrative that President Trump and his supporters were racist, homophobic monsters, ever at the neck of the vulnerable, were indeed just that, by evidence of their disbelief. That's the real monster in all of this. Our supposed free press is utterly compromised. That can't be reversed on Smolletts back. Even if Smollett were to be whipped to death. Not only would the media not change one iota. But they would say, "See? Trump supporters really are a bunch of homophobic racists. Poor Smolley just wanted a little attention, and they killed him. There is no end or depth to which the left wing media will not go in their quest to purify our nation by ridding their own souls and our nation of every good thing. Thanks for letting me vent.

 

I see, black privilege saved him from the hate crime he committed, how sad. He should have the mandatory 1-20 years added to his sentence as per IL hate crimes laws...

 

Possibly because Wohl is a nobody no that nobody ever heard of before (I hadn't until you mentioned him), and/or somebody(s) decided not to give him the worldwide stage with fifteen minutes of fame.

 

Ironically, I heard of Wohl but never heard of this Jussie character. Since they are 2 of a kind, it follows that they should get the same attention and punishment. Right?

I'm not going to vote on a specific amount of time because it should be based on everything he is successfully charged with and the sentencing standards of those charges. He shouldn't be singled out and overly punished, and neither should he get off lightly. Lets the judge decide within the min-max standards of the charges.

We have far too many in jails. Some kind of serious corporal punishment and release for first offenders and non-violent criminals would work much better.
