I want to talk specifically to Democrat voters or people that tend to vote more Democrat than Republican.

I have to say it's kind of interesting to see all of the different people running or talking about campaigns.

If you plan on voting for a Democrat president, who are you hopeful to win the nomination? And why?

I am OK with all the candidates so far but have less enthusiasm for some. Amy Klobuchar's treatment of co-workers/ Tulsi Gabbard's unwillingness to condemn Assad/ previous homophobia, Kirsten Gillibrand's flip/ flops. I'm more attracted to Kamila Harris [esp when she smiles/ laughs], Cory Booker/ Julian Castro/ Beto O'Rourke have young man energy/ enthusiasm. Having two Western governors John Hickenlooper/ Jay Inslee is cool. If we could vote today I would chose either Biden or Sanders.

What is interesting to you, is frustrating for me. I live in Oregon. Most of these people will be long gone before I have any reason to learn about them. I would truly like have a reason to learn, but unless we can slow the candidate attrition rate so that more Democrats have a say, than don't have a say in our nominating process, it will only irritate me to find that once again, my top picks are no where to be found.

I'm hopeful that Biden will get the nomination. For some reason he strikes me as a more centrist Democrat.

I should really learn a lot more about these people. I tend to listen to more left-wing or Central journalists but they don't really seem to be too fond of any of the make her candidates outside of Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.

Yeah being late in the process can be irritating. And I understand that I live in Texas it's not extremely late in the process but often times candidates have already withdrawn by the time they get.

I tend to vote more Republican but there's never a candidate that really excites me. Democrats have that and I'd really like to know what that's like.

Beto has lots of appeal; maybe vice president. Many Democrats want younger leaders regardless the degree of progressive ideology. Sanders [78] & Warren [69] are socialist democrat and quite similar to Harris [54], Booker [49]. Inslee's focus on climate change gets lots of West Coast interest.

If elected, Biden would be 78. It's amazing that senator Diane Feinstein will be 90 by the end of this term. That turns off some voters.

If someone like governor Kasich were the GOP candidate some Midwest Democrats could support him. Trump can only get Republican votes so it is clear he will not have a second term and frankly may end up in court along side his prison-bound cronies.

Rosario Dawson is dating Cory Booker.

Had the RW accused her of being a "beard"? Yet?

2 Old white people. Bring it on! Trump will soundly defeat either one, if they live through it without dying of strokes or heart attacks brought on by Trump. Harris has her problems as well. I see you have the hots for her.

Why do you say that? Actually, as time goes on, even moderate Democrats are leaving your party due to the idiotic people on the Left like AOC. Kasich hasn't been able to get even 1% of the votes in any Presidential Election. People still vote with their pocket books. And, CNN just came out with a poll that says 70% of the people view the economy has very good. Hyper changes to socialism would destroy that and most moderate Democrats who voted for Trump last time will again vote for him in 2020.

I find Beto-the-Dork the least informed candidate. What is with him jumping on top of tables and countertops in restaurants; very unsanitary? When he waves his arms as he's talking it reminds me of seeing film clips of Adolph Hitler riling up the troops at the Hof Brau House in Munich, Germany.

I had great health until I was 76 and I can say that the last two years have been hell. Everything came down all at once; one thing after another. I'm back at work but I'm far from being 100%. Bernie, Biden and Warren are a crap toss as far as their serving out a full term.

Not sure when all have to declare they are running but I would hold my powder dry.

    Answer this democrats...

In truth, don't you just support the person who,

    1) Promises to use the power of government to control businesses and tax "rich people"

    2) Promises to take money from someone else and give it to "minorities and women"

    3) Promises to let anyone in the country, i.e. unregulated immigration

    4) Promises to stop weather from happening

    5) Hangs out with cool celebrities who "care soooooooo much"

Isn't that the checklist for the average democrat??

    P.S. I'm not a Republican :)

Is there something about him being a closeted homosexual? Do they expect Democrat voters to care? Do you think they would care?

That is a very childish and ignorant view of Democrats. And I'm not a Democrat. ;)

The equivalent statement would be that Republicans just want to kill everyone who doesn't love trump.

Far too early for me to make a call, but I can say that I have liked what I've heard and respect the style of Pete Buttigieg. Truthfully, I don't see him winning the nomination. He's young and unknown, and his is the Mayor of a small town of 100,000 people. But he has the ability to easily and directly answer questions posed - which is refreshing. He seems well aware of all the reasons he likely won't win, but has countered those arguments with intelligence. I'd like to see him go a long way so we can learn more...

No, that list is pretty much the checklist for the avg democrat - and that's the percentage of them that are "informed".

Most democratic voters don't even understand basic civics, let alone history, economics, and governmental systems.

The avg Democratic politician understands that their base is ignorant and poorly informed. Which is why "the politics of envy", and simplistic sloganeering works well for them.

The Democratic Party represents the truly ignorant; and like in all previous "democracies", they are tearing down the culture and society.

Like parasites, they'll continue until the host is dead, and the society collapses.

It is history 101 - repeated over and over again.

Bernie or Biden Bernie has the Obama momentum behind him, and Biden can speak to the middle class workers Trump did. They both have polled ahead of Trump in states where Trump won in 2016, anyone else is not only in single digits by who democrats would nominate, but Trump beats them in those same states Sanders and Biden lead Trump in. It would not be wise to place bets on Booker, or Gabbard or O'Rourke.

Tulsi Gabbard. The only serious antiwar candidate. Biden is a warmonger and a racist and will not get my vote.

Jumping up onto tables takes courage considering that Beto isn't a small man.

Sorry about your health decline. Barring medical issues, if competent than age doesn't really matter. Several Supreme court justices served at 90 years old; many in their 80's. Speaking of judges, Judge Judy is 76 with no sign of slowing down.

I hope Andrew Yang wins the nomination. UBI, universal basic income, why not? He has a plan to pay for it too.

I'm actually more interested on who runs on the Republican side. You know Mitt Romney is running. Probably Niki Halley. I only give Trump a 50% chance
    that he even seeks re-election.

I don't imagine anybody will try against the incumbent. Romney was weak in the last campaign, but you never know he may come back swinging against Trump. I have given it much thought to be honest.

While I agree generally with most of your post, I feel we (Democrats) are on the cusp of a substantial generational leadership change. It may happen now, or over the next few years, but I feel its energy growing. Both Biden & Sanders are good men & dedicated, accomplished leaders in the party, but both are in their 70's, and for many Democrats, represent an age gone by. Most of the remaining candidates are of a younger generation, but still force members to choose between several wavelengths of liberalism. We still live in a country with about 231 years of Constitutional government, and 45 Presidents, with none of those being female in gender. That's a national travesty, and I believe one that needs remedying. So, I will admit I'm leaning heavily toward supporting a female candidate in the primaries. Like you, I have concerns about Klobuchar, Gabbard, & Gillibrand, but I like K. Harris & E. Warren a lot. I sense that Harris would have a better chance of defeating Trump--which is crucial--plus Warren is about 70. So, for now, I'm leaning toward Harris. But it's fun reading different Democrats reasoning & preferences. Thank you for sharing yours. :)
