FDR was a conservative who didn't appreciate the need for Keynesian economics. A lot suffered unnecessarily because of it. Ironically, right wingers now condemn him as a socialist. Go figure.

 

John Kennedy = D Almost killed us all and was more interested in getting into Monroe's pants. Got us into Viet Nam
Lindon Johnson = D- Escalated Viet Nam
Richard Nixon = C Good foreign policy got us out of Viet Nam. Too bad he was so paranoid and he didn't handle the hippies too well.
Gerald Ford = D+ Meh
Jimmy Carter = F Didn't do anything really. Was a good Ex-POTUS until he got senile
Ronald Reagan = B Good come back from Carter with the economy. Spent too much.
George H.W. Bush = B Good results with the Iraq war. Looking back, was smart to leave Saddam in power
Bil Clinton = B Was lucky enough to have a great economy. Didn't screw it up and worked well with the Republican Congress to cut spending
George W. Bush = C Good on economy but got us into a never ending war and spent too much. I can't say that I would have done it differently though without hindsight.
Barak Obama = D Escalated race problems and prolonged the recession. Spent way too much
Donald Trump = B Has boosted the economy and pretty much done (or attempted) to do what he promised. Needs to shut down the Twitter but has actually done way better than I had expected.

 

How did he do that? Or is he simply a beneficiary of the business cycle?

 

I suppose everyone is entitled to their perspective but "Good results with the Iraq war" ? Even for someone who agreed with the war - that perspective requires some serious mind altering substances to achieve IMO.

1. The Middle East has been a basket case since ancient times. It was a mess when Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount. It was that way during & following WWI. It was that way when Israel became a nation state again in 1948. Obama did nothing to worsen the situation in the Middle East.
2. I have no idea what you're talking about here. Obama was the most honest, honorable, compassionate President since Jimmy Carter, and did NOTHING I know of to divide this nation except be black. And that only worked for a racist minority.
3. Give examples to support your accusations. The Executive branch is FAR MORE politicized today under Trump than ever under Obama. Trump believes the DOJ is supposed to swear allegiance to him personally rather than to the U.S. Constitution. I think your post here is DEAD WRONG.
4. Obama left the U.S. military in the strongest position it had been in possibly ever. Give us examples supporting your accusations.

 

Jimmy Carter was the worst President in modern times (post 1900) until Obama became POTUS.

Now Obama is the worst President and Carter is bumped up to the second worst President.

Jimmy Carter has been grinning since 2009.

Well I was an adult when Carter gave away our canal in Panama that my great grandfather paid for.

Carter's response to the Soviets invading Afghanistan was boycotting the Olympics.

Carter couldn't even control the whacky Democrats of his own party in Congress.

Then there was Carter's lack of response when Iranian jihadist took over our Embassy.

And nobody was a happy camper having to do this back in 1979.
